My British grandparents had a few sayings that have been passed down and that my parents still use even though they are now Canadianized.

To describe a man moving fast they might say: "He went down the road like s**t off a stick."

If someone acts in a slow witted manner they might say: "What's amatter with you? Your acting like something nipped in the neck."

I don't know why but these phrases always make me laugh.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

One of my favorite sayings is a question asked mostly in this millennium, but nobody ever thought of it being asked as a form of entertainment until now.

that question is, "Deal... or no deal."

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Although it was sticks and stones instead.
