Thank you! i thought i was the only one so i didnt
mention it. I sometimes see pics i assume is
real people used in a "ha-ha, oh so funny"
setting. I find it cruel and cold hearted and
i`m not laughing, i get sad. Maybe its not
a real pic, but when i look at it i just see
someone who, it looks like, has lined up
and is smiling because someone is taking
a pic - i think thats nice, and i think its
aweful that someone takes it as a joke.
Guess its what people do to feel good
about themselfes, find someone else
to pick on and laugh at
count me out.

if she posted a picture of a supermodel, then it would not have been commented on.
i think the girl in the shot looks happy, and her expression makes me happy to see. it is you that sees the idea that it is "cruel" to post her smiling face when you would see it as normal to post a pic of a "beautiful" smiling face. her face is likeable to me. i would certainly want to let her talk to me.
why should she be hidden away?

anyway, that image is on a site called "ugly people".
http://www.uglypeople.com/ugly_women.php?page=1

i think that any person who has their photo registered there is quite accepting of it's use in a comedic way.
a lot of faces on that site are fakes, but some are genuine.
i think they are all willing or the site would be shut down long ago.

i like these 2 fellows.

Image

and i used this as an avatar once on a gaming forum and was treated as if i was a wasted tart.
Image

it is amazing how peoples attitudes to you are affected by their perception of your avatar.

anyway, that was in response to your affront at the use of the picture by the poster called "monkey"

i will find some interesting pics in a minute.

so here ares some pics i have studied carefully over the last few days.
they will bore most people.

i wonder if the cat was thrown into the water or whether it fell off a branch in a tree overhanging the water.
i think if it was thrown backwards, then it would have a "running forward" posture. but it does not. it looks as if it is dropping straight down from it's posture.

on the other hand, how could a person with a high speed shutter have captured this instant without staging it?
hmmm. i am sure the cat was OK however.

Image

this is a dreamily serene area that once entertained a disastrous loss of a large ship. all seems to be forgotten, and i would very much like to go and explore that wreckage in late afternoon sunlight, and absorb the surrounding isolated majestic vista that is a backdrop for a forgotten disaster.

Image

this is interestingly symmetrical, and i am told by 2 NT friends that it is a favorite of theirs, but i just think it is good but not spectacular.

Image

i like the color washes and the surreal character of this shot, but i would hate to be in wellington boots wading through that isolated swamp. i imagine there would be many mosquitoes and bugs,. but i like the pic.
Image

this would be a very adrenaline charged and exciting afternoon for me to witness this advent close to where i was.
Image

these are very clear shots of the shuttle. the power of that "mule" 747 has to be respected.
Image

this is very depictive (coinage?) of the size and scale of the shuttle and it's launch frame. to think of the combined efforts of all the people involved to create the shuttle and all conceivable supports is daunting.
it shows the size and scale of a shuttle and its service scaffold support pending a launch.
Image

this is a wide shot that conveys the energy expelled to propel the shuttle into orbit. it is good that it is a wide shot because most shots are close ups and they remove all frames of comparitive reference.
Image

what a shot! this is where the occupants of the shuttle would be experiencing maximum acceleration.

Image

in the following shot, note the intensity of sunlight shining on the orbiter. it is not filtered in any way and there is nowhere on earth where such a bright, powerful, and undiluted energy from the sun shines.
