You mean menopause? Average age is 51. Anywhere between 45 and 60 are normal I think. If you suspect that you're getting close. Your doctor can order some blood tests to check your hormones.

I’m 51, I still have my period, but I didn’t get it for 3 months.

Could be menopause but you should speak to your doctor if you have any concerns about it.

Approaching 50, my friends and I are experiencing shorter cycles with an occasional longer one. I expect we'll start skipping months soon. I've heard of periods in perimenopause skipping 3 months, 6 months and even 11 months.

It's usually when a biological woman is between the ages of 45 & 55 biological years of age, although in extreme cases it can be even later than that or before that.

It varies by woman. My mom last had hers at age 50.

Some women get their periods still through their fifties and I read once menopause starts, aging accelerates. So getting our period still is our fountain of youth.

What you are going through is called a premenopause

Did you intend to write perimenopause?

I'm 46, and over the past year, my cycles have become less regular, and I've even gone a couple of months without a period. The next time I see the doctor, I'm going to bring that up and maybe get a hormone test to see if I'm in perimenopause.
