I was 11. It seemed so early for me because most girls get their periods by the time they turn 12 or 13.

Don't remember exact date, but I did have my first period when I was in 7th grade, which seems about average. I made the mistake of wearing white pants to school during my first real period after menarche and I didn't put the pad on right, so not only did I have one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, I also learned an important lesson about using pads. I went home early that day, btw. It was that bad. I kinda wish I hadn't ever gotten my period.

Late in 13.

It wasn't anything like regular until I had a kid, though.

I was told in school that anywhere between 11 and 15 is fine, but to go to the docs if its not there by 16. I got mine a week before my 16th birthday. I was quite small and skinny and had digestive issues etc so that's probably why. I was sooo desperate to get it so I wasn't (even more) different to my peers, but when it came there was the nightmare of changing etc. I think its ridiculous that they make the packaging so loud lol.

I thought about how to tell my mum for about 3 weeks coz i was too embarrassed to talk about it, and I decided on "did u get bad pain when u started?". It worked coz she instantly knew why I asked, but I relied on her stash of pads etc and would never let anyone know if they ran out etc so it was a nightmare at times :/ x

I was 9 when I got mine, it happened in my sleep, woke up to lower back pain and wetness in underwear, I looked with a flashlight to see a brown stain, and from seeing position of stain it was not from butthole, but the other hole, so figured ahh, that's what it looks like to bleed, time to start buying pads (back then they were not too comfy were more like plastic covering and cardboard and weak adhesive back, now they are cotton and more absorbant.

didn't worry me too bad, as for about a year before this I had elementary school's version of puberty education (girls group) which explained the process of what happens during a menstrual cycle.

I'm 18 and I have never gotten a period.

They'd induce me, but I refuse to get a pelvic exam so... I live pretty freely because of it. Can't imagine having to deal with and plan for one!

I was 11. Funny story is, I was listening to the Adele song "Rolling in the Deep" when I realized I got my period and now I think of that song whenever I'm cramping.
