Sorry about your mum's health declining, Korts. ^ :(

The hospice care is in her home, or residential?
End-of-life hospice here is covered on insurance but it's extremely hard to find.
Most places have just 6-8 beds, and very lengthy wait lists.
I think they kick you out if you don't die (which I suppose is only fair).

It's in the home.

If her doctor certifies, after 6 months, that she's still eligible for hospice, she'll remain on hospice and be eligible for its benefits.

Hugs, firemonkey.

None of us are more fortunate than the other. It's all relative. I don't have the burden of grief that you carry, having lost your wife and trying to navigate on your own. We all have different sets of challenges but we're all struggling and our challenges are equally important, just like our accomplishments.

Sending my best to you and everyone in this thread.

I can be a major whinge merchant at times. Thanks for the hugs.

ToughDiamond: that was a typo. I meant “getting.”

And it says "getting" in your post, just as you intended. It somehow got changed when you were quoted. Not that I suspect foul play, there'd be no point. It's just mysterious.
