One of mine that particularly annoys others is when I crush a drinks can & then constantly click it back and forth, over and over.

It can get really loud.

You'll always find a nice little area on the ( crushed ) can that you can press for a really loud tinny sound.

I also substitute facial twitches for twitching my ab's or glutes instead.

Just a bit of foot tapping at the moment.

Had my partner help me catalog my regular stims. I'm kind of mind-boggled at the list. I didn't even know I did half of them. O_o

lip biting / chewing, face touching / stroking, head scratching, foot tapping, rocking in chair, spinning / chair and standing, finger tapping, finger twisting, knuckle cracking, hair twirling, head nodding, random noises, talking to self, pen flipping, string twirling / weaving, pacing, circle walking, tooth grinding, fiddling with objects, coin spinning, Hair chewing, hand dancing

Yeah; I never realized how much I stim until I visited this forum. Then it became, "That's a stim?? I do that all the time!"

Mine are generally relatively unobtrusive, if only because I make it so. They are as follows:

Rubbing my left forearm with my right hand, usually when anxious.

Jumping up and down while flapping my hands, only if hyper and/or extremely excited.

Slight forward-back or occasional side-to-side rocking, usually while reading.

Bouncing my leg up and down rapidly.

Biting my nails and bottom lip.

Twisting hairties into complicated shapes.

Clicking a pen or caribener.

Braiding strips of cloth or paper.

Tucking my hair behind my ears.

These are the ones that I use most frequently. I used to spin in place, but stopped as I got older.

Is it stimming when you have to always be fidgeting in your chair or fiddling with say a stress ball or something in your hands? If I don't have something like doodling or stress balls I tend to pick the skin raw around my fingers. I only suspect that I'm on the spectrum, although I have never been professionally diagnosed I still have a lot of traits.

So am I. I’m rocking side to side at the time I’m writing this. The stims I do are these:
Pacing
Hand wringing
Rocking back and forth or side to side, like I mentioned earlier.
Finger flicking

Pretty sure I'm too oblivious to know my own stimming but I believe I use singing. I hummed a lot as a kid to feel the vibration on my teeth and could not realize how loud I was. Quite upsetting to my parents. Anyway that transitioned to singing outside between buildings in high school while listening to my MP3 player. Also probably didn't realize if I was being loud or not.

Oh I also clench the muscles in my arms and legs in certain patterns and try to make sure I end in specific sections (anywhere in my left thigh for my leg pattern, shoulder/elbow/wrist joints for my arms). Thankfully that's basically imperceivable and... I don't think I've tried to explain this more than twice in my life. If that.

Ooh I forgot I also tap my front teeth like a drum, usually to a rhythm or song. I don't have very straight teeth so I tend to aim for the edges that just out a bit.

And I grind my teeth. That one's worse but didn't get me in trouble.
