Does anyone here with AS wear the same style of clothing?
My partner always wears a black t-shirt with blue jeans and he doenst like if there is writing on the shirt. But if its any other style of clothing he says " it doesnt feel right "

Is this a normal trate for someone with AS?

I'd say it's fairly common.

I tend to wear similar clothing, but then in all fairness that's more to do with lack of money and lack of fashion sense :P

Hmm.... I do have reservations about buying a shirt that makes me a walking billboard. A lot of what I wear is plain T-shirts and jeans. Just practical work clothes.

I never wore the same style of clothing. I always wore what I had and what felt comfortable on me.

It does seem common in people on the spectrum to wear the same style of clothing though.

Yes. The only style of clothes that I wear are hoodies. And it's not because of fashion. I have sensory issues so hoodies are the only clothes that feel comfortable on me.

Pretty much. I only look different when going to college. The style is different from my lazy style, but it always stays the same style.

Normal no such thing. But his and my styles are the same, classic comfort. I hate to wear my work uniform.

I think I have subconsciously adopted Einstein's habit of having several sets of the same clothes.
Though I don't do it so I don't have to worry about what I'm going to wear, I do it for practical reasons such as... I really feel comfortable in these clothes, I better have more than one set in case they get worn out, or so I can put them in the wash.

I'm definitely more for comfort and specific textures, even at school I was the only girl that wore track pants during winter, instead of a kilt with uncomfortable socks. When we had mufti days, I wore my school uniform since I was used to feeling those textures each day whilst doing my work. I think if I had of worn something different, I would have gotten distracted.
Of course kids think you're bonkers if you come to school on mufti day in your uniform.

After years of sensory crap, I figured out that the only thing I'm comfortable in are soft dresses.

What the heck am I going to do in the winter???? 8O

im in my yellow phase at the moment! orange and blue before it
i hate, hate tshirts with that writing on, you know the like iron on stuff, i can't remember what its called, the plasticky rubber writing, you know like it might say nike or something on the front?
im all for sewed in writing, which might just be down to me wanting to look expensive lol.
yellow polo shirt jeans, White jacket, or maybe green.
always nike shoes, I've had the same pair 3 times, but now I'm liking ralph lauren.
with brands i tend not to leave them. levis are substandard to like hugo boss in every way, but i like levi's i like the freedom the brand embodies, so no hugo for me.

Yep, I have worn the same clothes every day, with few variations, since I was 11 or 12. For me, it's always a plain non-pastel blue, gray or green Tee shirt (was blue-only in high school) with either jeans or jean type shorts. I only wear plain white Nike sneakers (Air Monarchs for the past 10 years) or flip flops for footwear, depending on the season. For socks, it's always white tube socks. I dislike anything not made of at least 50% cotton as anything else feels coarse against my skin. I also don't like collars or shirts with buttons, even polo shirts are annoying to me. I will wear other things on rare occasions when called for, but it is a very rare day when that happens (maybe once every few months to a year). Heck, I don't think I have ever even tried a different hair style as I have pretty much always combed it the same (it's kind of a Sheldon Cooper cut... ).

It's funny to me to see that there seem to be others here who wear basically the same plain, boring wardrobe as I do. I guess it may be an aspie thing and helps me come closer to the conclusion that I am one after all.

I do, it feels good to be wearing what is familiar. Different clothes feel different. I finally gave in to the weather and started wearing jeans, it took months of walking round in them to feel comfortable going out for a day in them. With my prefered style of clothing I just get used to it and it feels right. But people do comment on my lack of clothing variety...especially as I own multiple versions of exactly the same item of clothing.

I don't get it - in another thread somewhere else it said, ''is it common in NTs to wear the same style of clothing?''

This sounds exactly like me. Merrell shoes, blue jeans and a black tshirt without any writing on. Good friends have referred to this as "the uniform" and female friends have often tried and failed to get me to wear something else. My variations include short sleeves in hot weather and in winter I might wear a hoodie or fleece top as well, but it has to be pretty chilly out for that to happen. I'm from northern latitudes and can take the cold.

it is pretty common for someone on the spectrum to prefer one style of clothing so badly that they only wear something else if forced to, but this style is far from universal between individuals.
for me, i wear blue jeans with a regular t-shirt, no writing and 'weak' colours, and i add a sweater/hoodie if it's cold.
i can wear something else, but i just dont feel comfortable in it; my personality even changes slightly if i wear something significantly different...
