Would a communications etiquette advisor contribute towards refreshing what some see as a stale, and redundant WP environment?
The presence of some type of advisor e.g., like a moderator specializing in communications dynamics might encourage us to reassess our roles here on WP!
Could you give an example? Of how a WP conversation would be supervised in such a way?
As mentioned, best practices of small to medium sized businesses enlisting professional services to help promote their businesses; that is campaigns to help businesses stand-out from all of the noise. Non-business entities also benefit from successful communications e.g., teachers who make progress in reaching hard-to-reach students.
See book recommendations in my previous post.
Well gosh. Thanks for NOT answering my question.
First off: this is support website, and not a business, so I don't see what your list of business books has to with this website, nor do I see what any of your book titles it has to do with aiding communication as a specific issue.
Second: you didn't give me an
example. An example (either real, or hypothetical) of communication break down being aided by someone supervising communication.
So I will give YOU an example of ...what it SOUNDS like you're talking about.
I was in stock room with a bunch of coworkers, and we were unpacking merchandise while shooting the breeze. Three of the people, including me, were middle age, with one young lady circa 25. While we were all joking around someone made some pop culture reference (TV or rocknroll or something) and us middle aged folks all said to each other that "she"(the younger person) "wouldn't know about that". She got incensed and protested that she was old enough to hear about sexual stuff, and blah blah. So I had to jump in and mediate and translate for her what we all meant. And I explained to her that by "too young" we all meant "you weren't around when that TV show was current", and it had nothing to with sex, or being R rated, it was innocent but still an age related culture reference issue. That she was too young to remember the Seventies thing we were all yakking about. And everybody "got it", and got on the same page, and the misunderstanding was ironed over.
That's the kinda thing that it SOUNDS you're talking about. Two folks talking at each other but not hearing each other until a third party mediates.
IF its not then give an example of a vignette that does show what you're talking about.
