I'm very good at Wolfmanery.

My other talents are so hidden that even I don't know what they are.

Have you tried access homebase through a Linux OS to see if you can get an override to the sysadmin home drive?

That's fair enough. Only things I know how to do with it are get a flash drive that's not working to work again and copy a CD to my hard drive. I don't know a thing about Macs either.

I could probably learn how to use a mac easier and quicker than Linux, which isn't saying much. been a windows user since 3.1.

Oooh, pretty cool!

Our first family computer with windows was a Pionex Windows 98 machine. Before that it was a DOS machine of some flavor.

I really liked using it. After we got our XP machine I kept using our 98 machine til it no longer made sense to. When I was younger I used to just pore over Windows and DOS "Dummies" books like it was going out of fashion. I've considered revisiting that obsession but just don't have time anymore.

I always loved DOS myself, really.

Simple reason. It bloody well DID WHAT I TOLD IT. Even better, it DIDNT do things that I DIDNT tell it to do.

Windows does not have either of these qualities these days. It's known to ignore direct commands (or wait like forever to do them), and it DEFINITELY likes doing things it shouldnt be, without permission from the user.

DOS didnt pull that crap. It sat there until I interacted with it. That's all. It was simple and nice.
