Interesting theory, but I'm skeptical. Still, the little fingers of both my hands are bent inwards...

Yes, I have true clinodactyly of the 5th digit (pinky). Very short, definite bend, and instead of one crease at each joint like the other fingers, it has one crease between two joints like the thumb. I don't find it to be a problem in general. I tried teaching myself piano, and was gutted to discover that I physically couldn't play a true chord because my finger couldn't reach. Trying to type in fingerless gloves is also a nuisance, because the pinky just disappears in the glove.

Nope, nothing. Doesn't really matter if it doesn't affect your health. It's a skeletal structure quirk.

My second fingers are bent towards my middle fingers by a bit but it runs in my family and mine aren't as crooked as most of my relatives so I don't know. It's nothing excessive or anything. Also this is an old thread. :P

Why would a neurological disorder like Autism make your fingers deformed?

My hands and fingers are perfectly normal.

Yes, I have this in the majority of my fingers and haven't been able to find the medical term for this. Left hand: Middle finger towards Ring finger. Index finger towards Middle finger. Right hand: Pinky finger(albeit extremely mild and hard to notice in contrast to the others) towards the Ring finger. Ring finger towards the Middle finger. Middle finger towards the Ring finger. Index finger towards the Middle finger.

Checked out an article on the connection between ASDs(though in the article it was just referred to as Autism). The writer also reffered to other physical differences such as toes being spaced apart from each other far more than normal, eyes being seperated more than normal, and ear lobe deformity(I have this but it often occurs in Eastern Asian people). Like Joe90 said, I too am curious as to how a neurological disorder would affect how our body develops. I hope for this to gain more solid ground and evidence for early childhood diagnosis to assist those before it becomes a large problem.

I don't know. Does it has to be pinky in a hand? My pinky fingers are normal. However there is a slight deformity in middle and ring fingers. It's nothing serious though.

Left hand:
Ring finger and middle finger towards each other.

Right hand:
Ring finger almost straight. Middle finger visually cracked towards ring finger.

Also my toes are not straight - the 3 smallest ones, on both feet lean towards the big and second toe. I have to keep their nails nicely trimmed or else they make small wounds in the skin of neighboring toes.
My pinky toes actually cannot even fold by itself on any feet because their bones are so deformed. I can fold it if I use my hand but it can only move by itself using a joint in the feet. The other joints responsible for pinky toe movement remain uncontrollable by feet muscles and can be fold only by external mover. Not like it bothers me. It only pisses me off when I try to buy sandals - the straps must be in right place or else the tiny toe repeatably gets stuck between them and can't break free without the help of hand, lol.

Hey Kiriae, it doesn't have to be the pinky finger. But it is most common in the pinky finger.

I've got scissor hands. It's a very cruel deformity. Damn you Autism!
