Accurate depiction of Autism? (video)
I would say what was shown was a bunch of different stuff I've seen with autistic kids I've been in school with. I mean everyone shows different traits in different ways.
If the video had no description and I was asked what I thought about the kid, I'd say he seemed to have a lot of autism traits. I get lost when it comes to what a classic autism kid does vs what an aspie kid does. I just see familiar ASD behavior I've seen my whole life. The only thing wrong with this is it was a whole lot lumped into one, but what else were they going to do in a 17 min vid?
So I think it gave a good enough presentation of how ASD is. Not perfect. not 100% realistic, but good enough.
Also that seemed a lot more like a special ed classroom and special ed teacher.
It's interesting to know what set of criteria your friend was diagnosed as having Aspergers?
I wasn't there when she was diagnosed. (she is an acquaintance by the way not friend)
but I guess it was aspergers because as I said she doesn't have trouble with speech or verbal language.
