I'm only there for the food (without it it's pointless)! It's often too much for me and the music is usually the crappy pop of today turned up too much.

I don't think this is too strange... I like loud music if I'm at a concert or another type of event where interaction isn't exactly expected. But, if I'm with people who are trying to talk to me while the music is blaring (particularly if it's a song I want to listen to), then I'm going to get at least a little annoyed if not thoroughly overwhelmed.

I love to organise parties. I like the decorations, the food and the music but I'm not such a fan of the social side.

I often go to parties. But I only go to them when it is expected that there will not be many people. I like the loud music especially when there is a lot of bass. If the treble is too high, it is very painful to my ears.

I sometimes like small get-together sort of things with friends, but I tend to find actual "parties" obnoxious and disorienting. I stopped going to band parties in high school because of this, even though I really enjoyed band otherwise. I Did often go to band bonfires though, as they were considerably more relaxed.

I think it depends on the party. If I'm surrounded by friends, people I know, people I'm comfortable around, I'll have a damn good time. If I'm around people I don't know and people I feel I need to put forth an effort to be social around, I'll have a miserable time.

Same :)

I used to like parties, but don't particularly anymore. They're too loud and have too many people. I think my sensory issues have somehow actually gotten worse in the past few years (???) but anyways, I don't particularly enjoy them, especially the ones in college. A small get-together with family or a few friends can be awesome for me, if you'd call that a party, though.

I hold a party every day in my flat, tonight there was real ale and Guinness flavoured crisps.
I never invite anybody else to come to my parties however, just me.

I personally don't like parties, and wouldn't willingly go to one, but each person is different. It's ok for an autistic person to like parties even if most perhaps do not.

ayyyyyyy that's the spirit. i make it a point to try and start a one man+one dog party on the rare occasions i'm left at home. real nuts, and the hebrew music turned way up.

simply being in the same room as the loud party is enough of a ride for me without having to socialize or play anything. i can see myself now as that strange uncle who sits in the corner of the living room, all else not wanting their kids around me.

Hate them.

When my parents drag me to a family get-together, I bring Daniel Tammet's Born on a Blue Day and read that to avoid social interaction. Doesn't always work.

The largest group of people I can be around without getting uneasy is around 4. I'm quite outgoing when in a close group of friends but when five or more people are around I get really tense and want to go home, I usually avoid social gatherings like the plague.

Wow, that sounds an even better party than mine!, with a dog!, that would probably be a great party if you had a pack of dogs, all jumping around grinning and with their tails wagging!

If it's just a gathering with my parents and sisters, I enjoy it. If there are many people, people I'm not familiar with or people I'm not comfortable with there, then I hate it. I also hate noisy ones, particularly with music on. So I guess in general I hate parties.
