Baron Trump uses one.

I notice that in a pic of him leaving a plane with his dad.

That was the first, last, and only, time I ever thought about fidget spinners.

I have one my mom got for me, but I don't use it much. I have one of these, which I much prefer. It's similar to the fidget cube, but not a cube shape, and it has a few things the cube doesn't, including a bumpy area that's very nice to rub. I think the metal ball is the only thing the cube has that this doesn't.

Oh Lord, I have the Aspie fascination-with-rotary-motion thing so badly that if any of you don't have it, I probably got your rations. All of them.

When I go to a laundromat, I literally watch my clothes go round and round in the washer, then the dryer, the whole cycle. I need no other entertainment. (On the plus side, it may look strange to NTs, but I've never had clothes pilfered.)

I had a Bosch front-loading washer/dryer when I lived in Europe and oh boy, laundry day, if I didn't force myself away from the thing I'd sit there fascinated the entire time.

If I had a fidget spinner my desiccated corpse would probably be discovered years from now, with the blasted thing still in my skeletal hand. (No, I take that back. My cats would insist on being fed and played with, which would break the spell. Whew. Yay cats.)

I did have a fascination with propellers on planes when I was like 8 years old, I wished my wrist were ball socket joints so I could mimic the spin of propellers with my hands.

Have kind of rekindled that obsession recently when I became a fan of a particular airplane: the Soviet Tu 95 bomber, which has counter rotating propellers (each of its four engines has two sets of prop blades that rotate the opposite way). How cool is that?

Hot damn, I'm going to look for a video of that.

Edit in: HOLY SH*T

(Although I'd be happier if it was dropping emergency provisions or something like that. Damn.)

Yeah its the world fastest propeller plane (its propjet or turboprop, its not a piston prop like a B29). Also known as "the Bear Bomber" it's kinda Russia's poor man's version of our B52. Both came out in like 1953. And incredibly both planes are still used today.

Were bombing Iraq with the B52, while at the same time the Russians are bombing Syria with the TU 95 Bear bomber ( more specifically its being used as platform for cruise missles).

In fact the current war in Syria is the first time that the Russian plane was actually used in combat in all of those years of its service. And there are civilian passenger versions of it too.

Amazing design. Thank you for mentioning it, I've never seen anything like that.

I've always thought that fidget spinners were such a mainstream attempt at profiting from an Autistic's fascination with spinning objects. I'm sure most NTs don't realize that this is an ASD thing but these fidget spinners make it feel like someone's profiting off of me. I'm sure this makes no sense to anyone. I just want to say to any NT who uses a fidget spinner, "hey this is our thing get your own thing."

So I guess what I'm trying to say is I applaud any ASD here who uses a fidget spinner but I despise it when NTs use fidget spinners. Make sense?

For me I get my fix by staring at spinning wheels on cars when I drive. I could do that for hours on end. Of course it can be quite distracting and I know I should keep my eyes on the road but still oh boy. What fun.

Yeah I understand what you mean, they kind of went mainstream and now people see them as toys or collectible items, but people with ASD aren't the only ones who can benefit from fidget spinners.

I just got mine in the mail a few hours ago and it helps me listen to Youtube videos, which is not related to ASD.

You shouldn't "stare at car wheels while driving" but its okay when you're a passenger. And often cars seem to be doing the equivalent of a Michael Jackson moonwalk: their wheels appear to spin backward while the car moves forward.

I'm thinking about buying me a Cut the Rope one with Om Nom on it.

Easy there tiger, I've already admitted that I shouldn't as a driver. But spinning objects are a VERY strong addiction for me.

Perhaps a little more understanding is in order?

Understanding of WHAT?

Its a dangerous thing to do. And warning against doing it bears repeating.

Like I need to be playing around with yet another thing that gives NTs a stupid excuse to hate us even more. Teachers in schools are on the news, acting like it's the work of Satan or something. I guess colored chalk will be the next thing they ban.

Yes. I don't really use it, though. After I got it, I decided that I liked yo-yos more, and I bought a bunch of those.
