I think many of my family are, now my son has been diagnosed but nobody has been diagnosed except my son. That's why it's such a knotty question for me knowing what to tell them all.
Me - I don't think so.
My husband - a keen trainspotter, obsessed with transport and cameras, but apart from that very sociable.
My Mum - cannot empathise with people. Cannot see anyone's point of view but her own.
My Dad - seems like classic AS to me, he is an engineer, 100 per cent obsessed with his work.
My sister - shows traits, I think. Not sociable. Hardly any friends, has very logical black and white thinking.
My husband's family - no, no other traits but then my father in law died before I met him so don't know about him.
My Dad has two brothers. They are all very driven and ambitious men, all very hardworking, very cynical. They all had daughters, there are 7 of us girl cousins and no boys. My only cousin with children has three little girls. I hoped and prayed I could break the line of girls in my family and have a boy. I did, and he has Asperger's. He is so much like my Dad in character it's not true, it's like Dad's genes elbowed everyone else's out of the way and took over!!
