My roommate in college said that I always had very active dreams/nightmares. Apparently I call out a lot in my sleep; and according to my mother, I sing sometimes. I also move constantly. That's while I'm asleep. Getting to sleep is more interesting sometimes. Basically, my best method for falling asleep is being utterly exhausted.

Otherwise, I have many of the same problems as those on this thread; minus of course the issues with the right environment. Definitely not my problem (says the girl who used to sleep through Kill Bill when her roommate played it at 3 am).

I have had sleep problems all my life. I never could get the hang of sleeping like some people...as soon as their heads hit the pillow, their out :? 8O
It's only gotten worse as I've gotten older. I replay situations, think up new ones, daydream.

If I get two days off in a row, I can catch up on sleep (which is better than none, but still not "healthy"). Otherwise I drink lots and lots and lots of expresso to stay awake. And that only messes up when I go to bed, because I have a low tolerance for any kind of "drug" (caffeine included) it can make me stay awake more than half the night. I'v reached the point where my sleep goes in cycles...up longer one night, asleep sooner the next. That doesn't always work, and sometimes I completely "crash" (more like passing out as soon as able, IMO)

I have learned that 7 hours of sleep during a worknight is optimal, and then 10 hours on my days off. I usually average about 5-4 hours on a worknight though.

I wouldn't call myself an insomniac, but there are some nights where I just don't want to go to bed because I'm so absorbed in what I'm doing. I end up staying up til like 3 or 4 in the morning.

When I was little, I moved my legs a LOT while asleep, sort of like running or biking. Apparently, it's pretty common for autistics to do that sort of thing. I don't know if I do it now. I do it sometimes, voluntarily, because it's really relaxing. I suppose it could be considered a stim.

Leave it to me to stim while asleep.
