Okay, so we're on a different topic now. Well there's a difference between tolerating and approving. Tolerating means that you put up with someone else's differences and you respect their decisions, where as approval means that you personally agree with that person's decision and would make the same decisions for yourself.

So when I say that I tolerate something like homosexuality, I am saying that I respect the decisions of The Gay Community because I am not Gay and therefore don't have much credibility to how they should behave.

ok now you tossed another word into the mix! approval - which I think is different again :)
