No, that just means your body hadn't changed to accomodate the substance. You can easily suffer withdrawal symptoms even if a drug is totally useless; and you might not have them even if it was very useful.

I am on several meds and if I miss a couple of them in particular (Lamictal, Wellbutrin, Effexor) I feel somewhat lightheaded and get a weird taste in my mouth. And, I can not go to sleep with Requip and Seroquel. Well, I can eventually go to sleep, but it's never sound sleep.

Seroquel has been something of a godsend. I thought a racing mind was normal.

There are days when I forget to take my Prozac and the next day I am quite irritable and grouchy. At least that is what my husband says. If I miss several within a week, usually because I forgot, I start to feel like I'm slipping into hell. Kind of feel likel I am in a surreal world, no happy at all, and only feelings of wanting to escape from being trapped inside my body.

off adhd meds I tend to consume insane amounts of caffeine and pace back and forth slowly, just trying to remember what I was trying to do. Usually I was looking for something and got distracted and then continued to look for it without mentally looking for it.

So I might be trying to find my keys but since I don't remember I am trying to find my keys I just wander from room to room trying to remember what I am doing.

That sounds like me, usually. Forgetting what I'm doing, where I'm going, what I meant to get... Of course it's either that or complete hyperfocus. :P I use extensive lists to keep myself on track. It doesn't always work--like right now, I'm off track by three hours because I got a phone call I wasn't expecting.

But stimulants don't work on me--I'm predominantly inattentive type, and apparently that's common.

Caffeine helps a little, but I get withdrawal headaches if I use it too much. :(

I don't remember having any side effects when I forgot to take my meds... except being less tired. I suppose other things could have happened, but I'm just too stuck up in my head to notice what's going on with my body.

I am inattentive. but the ADHD meds work on me. at least adderall does. ritalin gives me a bit of irritability, mood changes, and paranoia.

adderall seems to be doing very well.

I take clonidine for the side effects (drowsiness) and if I miss a dose it totally annihilates my ability to feel fatigue (more so than the insomnia did before I started it). I'll glance up at a clock and be like, oh... it's 2:00 and I'm not tired... s**t... tomorrow is not going to be fun...

I now take anxiety medication daily; if I don't, I am prone to panic attacks and can snap under pressure.
