That's a generic statement that can be applied to pretty much anything.

I don't think so, I don't believe in ghosts in the sense of a dead person, when your dead your dead. I do believe in spirits but only evil ones and since I believe you can sense the evil presence and I haven't felt one in my room I would have to say no, It was only the one time that I was uncomfortable and that had more to do with not understanding what was being said, if I had understood it, I would have been fine with it.

I do have a lot of issues filtering out superfluous sounds like a buzzing fly or a dripping tap or a ticking clock a lot more than most people. Even the sound of the TV set has to be put on the mute or I cannot listen to the person at the other end without being distracted.

Yep I have good hearing, I hear high pitched sounds from electrical devices and plug sockets.

The annoying thing is that I hear breathing noises!! ! I hate that!

I often hear humming and ringing noises 1-3 days before an earthquake hits. I know I'm not imagining them, because my cat's ears will move to the ringing I'm hearing. However, I'm not sure about how earthquakes have a humming sound before they hit. Lately, I've been hearing many of these ringing noises.

This is interesting! It is said that animals are sensitive to the frequencies produced by rocks under extreme strain and beginning to fracture. We live in a dog-rich neighborhood and for years we have noticed the peculiar "quake bark" sessions that will precede a 2.5 or better by a day or two. By comparison, our indoor cats are always taken by surprise. Do you keep a diary of these occurrences?

Surrounding areas have been pretty active with moderate activity lately and the dogs have been pretty stirred up as well. I find myself in the earthquake shed a lot, checking supplies yet again.

Some things I can hear pretty well, but there's other things I have a really hard time picking up. Like I can hear someone driving into my courtyard on the opposite end of the house, but I'll have trouble hearing what someone is saying right in front of me. I'm weird like that. But it can also go the opposite. Once, there was a siren going off kinda far away. I could barely hear it at all, and the girl next to me was plugging her ears!

i hear sounds within sounds. i hear flaws in music. which this is annoying because thats all i hear after listening to a song. i hear what i call, background sounds, whether on tv or the radio, i notice beeping or something underneath. i hear what is not always noticable to others. i have quit saying, "did you hear that"? because noone else usually does.

it is such a strange thing, and these last days i have had some experiments (for i remember 4 years ago a night a 7 richter quake was me and my dog so "confused" the whole afternoon before).

i woke up yesterday and felt strange, cannot conecntrate, continued stopping what i was doing, and felt my body and head a little trembling. i don't know why but two days ago i was thinking about earquakes, so yesterday i went here:

http://www.emsc-csem.org (sismology mediterranean link)

i discovered that between 17 and 19 june there was a large but light activity of quakes...and thought...oh my god...i was so messed up those days...that i had to go to the doctor to have the "paper" not to go to work (sorry i'm not english mothertongue), for i felt very anxious and couldn't sleep.

yesterday, before the publications of the times of the quakes, i signed on a paper the time i had the "sensation", and then discovered that my observations were right, and......that's all!! !

The sensitive hearing thing is something I've read several times about autistic individuals.

When I was a child (probably 7sh years old), one of my parents friends let off a fire cracker directly behind my back, ever since then I have had tinnitus (ringing in ones ear) in my left ear. It's been there as long as I can remember. I can hear it whenever I want, but it's also easy to ignore as white noise. I am quite used to ignoring specific sounds now because of it.

My hearing is more sensitive than others, I've found. I typically dislike the volume levels chosen by people I know. I've always felt I was more aware with my sense of hearing, meaning I feel as if I can hear (or notice more often) sounds that others do not. Usually muffled sounds. This is only a sense of awareness, rather than something confirmed, so I could very well be wrong.

I think I hear "too much". I believe I have read about this for autistic individuals. That means that one has problems filtering out noises in general. I've noticed my friends all have an easier time than I do conversing in loud areas. I have to really focus to hear them, and sometimes I just give up and act as if I can hear them (I've recently learned from an NT how to fake listen, thankfully). In most songs, I cannot understand the lyrics of them. To my friends, the lyrics are usually clear. Songs that usually emphasize on lyrics (humorous songs) are usually easier to understand for me, but most mainstream music.. I can't.

I believe either I've lost some hearing, or I'm getting desensitized, because I've noticed I'm finding louder volume levels that used to pain me as more acceptable. Not too big of deal really, since I'm tired of having to complain about it anyways.

i guess it's quite the same for me. have you got problems in defining left and right of a sound? i do, and it's pretty strange since i can hear, like u, things other cannot, for instance when my friend and I were mixing our last record, i noticed that i could hear mistakes and imperfections she really didn't (but really existing, for when i put in solo the track where i knew the mistake was, and get more volume she could also hear it) but she noticed when balance of instruments and left and right mix had problems...

where are you from?
