It's less clunky if I just eliminate ones that don't fit, especially since everyone has already seen the list. Redundancy drives me nuts.

I have...
AS

A. Social interaction

A1. A lack of socio-emotional reciprocity as characterised by
1. a clumsy social approach (lord yes. I always feel like an alien when I have to go up and talk to people. I like Temple Grandin's "anthropologist on Mars" sentiment)
2. one-sided responses to peers (I don't know what this means, so I'll leave it here)
3. inability to interact with peers (I think it's more of an unwillingness than an inability. I can force myself, but I really don't want to because it's so awkward)
5. socially and emotionally inappropriate behaviour (I've been told that I'm inappropriate when I do things like swear in front of kids but as far as I'm concerned if you don't want your f*****g kids hearing me f*****g swear, leave them the f**k at home instead of bringing them to a f*****g bar... f**k!)

A2. Peer relationships characterised by
1. failure to develop peer relationships appropriate to developmental
level (23.... never had a boyfriend. Yep)
3. no interest in making friends
4. avoids others
5. lack of desire to interact with peers
6. a loner
7. approaches others only to have own needs met
8. detached from feelings of others (it's more that I don't care. I can get what people are feeling if I need them for something)

B. Communication (language in D. and non-verbal abilities in E.)

B1. Possibly the same qualitative impairments as in childhood autism characterised by
1. a lack of social usage of whatever language skills are present (well... I never talk, so yep)

B2. Other pragmatic difficulties may include
2. talks too little

B3. Unusual voice characteristics such as the following

C. Repetitive Behaviour

C1. One or several special interests that is/are characterised by
I don't know what any of C1 is referring to, so I can't answer it. Ignore it.
1. exclusion of other activities (??? That's a broad area. WHAT other activities?)
2. restricted interest towards other topics (other than what?)
3. repetitive adherence (to?)
5. pursued with an abnormal intensity (definitely)

C2. Atypical play and attachment as characterised by
2. a specific interest in non-functional elements of objects (such as their smell or feel) (or accent? Do accents count? I avoid people if I can't stand their accents and believe me, it can be a very subtle difference)
3. attachment to unusual, typically non-soft objects (I love scented candles. Does that count? They're in glass and aren't soft)

C3. Stimming characterised by
1. stereotyped and repetitive motor mannerisms

C4. Routines characterised by
(routine is where I think I fall out and miss being AS. It's where I highly doubt that I'm AS. I f*****g hate routine)

D. Language

D1. Language Development is characterised by
1. no general delay or retardation in language (single words are used by age 2 years, communicative phrases are used by age 3 years)
2. superficially perfect expressive language (I resent the word superficial. My verbal IQ is 151)
3. formal, pedantic language (depends on with whom I'm speaking... get it? )

D2. Speech abnormalities as characterised by
2. idiosyncratic use of words (only in poetry, not in speech... it drove my prof nuts because I'd never listen to her suggestions)

E. Body Language (for anything in E, I guess I'd only know if people told me and I don't talk to people so I'm S.O.L)
E1. Inappropriate expression as characterised by

E2. Atypical facial expression as characterised by
2. unable to give messages with eyes
3. peculiar, stiff gaze
4. does not look at other (other what? I don't look at anything, so yeah. I guess that works)

E3. Atypical body language as characterised by
3. limited use of gestures (gestures are f*****g annoying)
4. does not use hands to express oneself (why would I?)

F. Motor development
1. clumsiness (nowadays yes, but unrelated to AS)

G. Psychotic episodes occasionally occur in early adult life (really? I'll have to watch out for that one)

H. No cognitive delay

I. No delay in the development of age-appropriate self-help skills, adaptive behaviour (other than social interaction), and curiosity about the environment in childhood

J. Various other features (taken from the description of childhood autism from ICD-10)
2. presence of sleeping difficulties and disturbances
4. presence temper tantrums and aggression.
5. presence of self-injury (such as wrist-biting)
6. a lack of spontaneity, initiative, and creativity in the organization of their leisure time (leisure time is boring time)

I have...
AS
classical autism
PDD-NOS
other

(Which one it is, is still up in the air, but really I think it's irrelevant because AS and classical autism should in my opinion be the same diagnosis. If you focus on the lack of speech delay, I have AS. If you focus on the highly unusual speech and self-help delays, I have classical autism. I have lately taken to calling myself "autistic" and only specifying which type if asked.)

5. socially and emotionally inappropriate behaviour

6. a lack of spontaneous seeking to share enjoyment, interests or
achievements with other people

A2. Peer relationships characterised by
1. failure to develop peer relationships appropriate to developmental
level
2. no close friends
3. no interest in making friends

4. avoids others
5. lack of desire to interact with peers
6. a loner

(The characteristics in bold text are the ones that are always present to a significant degree, the ones in italic text are either always there but milder than the bolded ones, or they fluctuate in severity.)
