Well....if our "autistic nature" allows us to engage in an exercise roughly as futile as attempting to reason with a chicken, i'd say we're in bad trouble.

Such things are often equally nourishing to them and I think you realize that.

to m. argon-bromine etc., when someone starts tossing around the term loser, well i take note....i claim that title for myself. my last book is titled 'loser'.

why be so silly? just for fun? maybe not. i'm sorry you're so hurt. making enemies will not help. it's good to make enemies for the right reasons. to make enemies for no reason whatsoever, just sad.

of course I do, its just sometimes I cant resist using a troll as a punching bag. Its a good way to relieve stress about totally unrelated stuff such as my lack of employment.

and yeah, I know my stuff. I am sort of a reformed troll.

I hope you gain something from this experience. It is my honest hope that you have a wonderful and fulfilling life, and if you must troll to make it through your miserable misunderstood teenage years (they're tough, I know), so be it.

You make sweeping generalizations. We can make friends; it's simply more difficult. We sometimes have difficulty with taking things literally, but that doesn't mean we're stupid. Just look at Daniel Tammet and Temple Grandin.

I am new and would like someone to define what "troll" actually means? I have read this thread and think that some person may be sociopathic [yes] but I'm not familiar yet with all these terms.

A poster who says/types statements just to see how peoplpe react. They can range from being people who ask funny things/act as goofballs to malicious posters who wish destruction and harm on people.

A troll is someone who tries to get a reaction, usually negative, by saying something intentionally provocative (flame-war kind of provocative, not intelligent-debate kind of provocative, and usually not sexually). For the lulz, which means coming to the conclusion that life is pointless, therefore what you do doesn't matter; there is no right or wrong, no future, no purpose. Merely your amusement in this moment.

No, "for the lulz" was originally a corruption of L-O-L (yes I am referencing that meme) which originally went LOL -> LOLZ -> LULZ.

Lulz simply means 'funnies' or 'fun;'. "You did it for the lulz" = you did it because you thought it was funny. I do not subscribe to people who over-analyze trolling subcultures to Neon Genesis Evangelion levels, because a lot of those psychological/political/mythical/other 'deep' explanations are often copouts to be an a**hole to others OL (this references the url link to 'Malwebolence' I made earlier & ther things.

Phrasing this another way, "I did it for the lulz" is 2000s netspeak for "I did it for the kicks", which is what some other people might understand. Replace with "s**ts and giggles", "laughs" or whatever else you recommend.

Well I notice the "troll" has not replied for quite some time in this thread and so possibly they/it/he/she has been banned. Thank you for the explanation but I cannot understand the logic of anyone who would waste time doing such a thing. To me it is as daft as these people who want to write with/meet/marry serial killers in prison simply because they have some macabre or ill-gotten fame. Just how does it all work!
