I use to be confused as being a troll on a lot of social networks.

Now I'm not really on many forums besides special interest forums. On a few of them I get called out for being obsessive but that is about it.

I'm a complex person and I have many forums that i feel comfortable on for each facet or version of myself.
as far as I'm aware, I've got 3 people in me- I have a normal side, an aspie side, and a crazy psycho side.

over here I feel at home regarding my aspergers and all things to do with that, but my aspie side is very tied-in with my two other parts of myself.
I don't think there's any psychos or anything close to that here is I sorta feel like i'm the black sheep in the sea of white sheep regarding that.

I have some psycho forums i go to for my psycho side and i feel at home there but it conflicts with my aspie side

and i'm at home at several 'normal' forums that normal me is part of

since lately i'm all over the place and i jump and and out of all these different sides of myself i actually don't feel at home anywhere...
actually i'm so all over the place i don't even know who i am anymore

I also post, or used to, on Personality Disorders - Psych Forums. I posted on their Asperger's threads as well as their AvPD ones. Lately I've been spending all my time on WP, though. I guess I like the format better.

Reading through this thread, I realize (once again) that I lack a level of social awareness that some other people have, in terms of what goes on here. I honestly just blunder my way through, in a very naive and straightforward way. I see new topics and questions, and I add my own answer to the mix. It's as simple as that for me, and if my contribution comes across as narcissistic or attention-seeking – that honestly was never my intention. I see all people as having equal value, myself included.

It is the same for me. And I think that is why I have never had any problems so far and probably never will on any of the forums I am on. And why I see little difference between WP which is mainly autistic adults and the other two sites im on (as big as this one), which is mainly NT teenagers.
tbh it seems like some people just seem to look for trouble and problems that I am usually blissfully ignorant of.

Nah, often people don't look for trouble, it just keeps coming up.

Well maybe i should have said others see trouble or problems that I do not. Or if i do see it, it does not bother me.
Im still just thrilled to death to be able to interact with so many people of such differing backgrounds, locations and ages. I have already decided i would make a lousy moderator because I would let way too much stuff slip past me.

Such things have been an interest of mine for several years, and I'm still not perfect at noticing all of them (and depending on context, I might not notice anything without prompting). Some things stand out as fairly obvious, though.

So, like I see a lot of it here, but to be fair I see a lot of it everywhere. It bothers me more because I actually like being here and interacting with many people here, and unlike one of the other two disability forums I frequent, I'm not a moderator. :)

makuranososhi. Pity he doesn't return to this forum.

I'm on a few other ASD forums. Granted I don't post on the others so much but it's not because I'm uncomfortable there.

AFF's closure bore two new forums called ASD Community and Aspie Friends Network. I'm a member of the former.

I'm only on one non-ASD forum which relates to an online pasttime of mine, Second Life

I don't feel comfortable on WP.

But I don't really feel comfortable anywhere.

You mean this:

http://www.autisocial.com/

I see it's dead. What happened?

To answer the OP:

I feel the same here as everywhere else. I have gotten bad treatment here too and misunderstandings so nothing different than other boards.

I feel mostly comfortable. But I'm new here. I love how receptive people are to questions. People I can relate to makes my confidence go up as well as well as my own self-awareness. I'm trying to learn everything I can about my ASD, so... currently it feels like a great resource.

I've joined others but none of them have the activity or variety of topics as this one does.

I should say I feel a little bit more comfortable on WrongPlanet than on the average message board... but a little bit goes a long way!

I can agree with other posters above who feel that they can say more here, without being misconstrued as snarky when they're not, or serious when they're joking, or when they're sharing an anecdote and they're considered rude or weird because of what's in there.

So I can totally appreciate WrongPlanet for being that bit of an 'online home'.
