Love the stuff, but I have to give a lot of it up (used to eat the salt out of the pretzel bag..;)
So I got into spices, Thai, Chinese, Indian, all that flavorful stuff..

I dont really add salt to food unless it really needs it. I wouldnt lick salt either :/ I guess I do like salty, savoury foods a lot though.

I dont like things that are too sweet though. Cake shop cakes are sickeningly sweet. They used to buy them for peoples birthdays at work and at best Id try to eat a little bit to show respect for the person having a birthday. Mostly I would just say I didnt want any.

I've never been very fond of salt to be honest.

If I can avoid eating it, I will.

I am aware that eating salt in excess can be to the detriment to my health but in spite of it I add salt practicaly to everything.

I LOVE salt! I know it is bad for me but I keep eating it! As a kid I used to lick it off the work tops, although one time it turned out to be washing powder... yurk... 8O

Salt is excellent. I always get comments from friends and colleagues when they notice my affinity for salt. My favorite salty food is a plate of crispy french fries from the local greasy spoon... of course I liberally apply extra salt over them.

I think I should eat more salt, as I am scrawny and have low blood pressure. If I drink a lot of water (ostensibly to avoid dehydration) it makes me dizzy and light-headed, especially when standing up. This is interesting. It probably also explains why I like Gatorade so much... the beverage is full of various salts and ions. They could stand to ease up on the sugar, though.

Nope, I simply cannot stand salt. I am very sensitive to it and even moderate amounts by most peoples standards can put me off eating something. I was brought up in salt free household so that may have something to do with it. I do however love spicy foods and sweet things.

You better believe it! Salty foods are my favorite and, odd as this may seem, my dogs like to lick my skin because I am a human salt lick!

Oh, yuk... 8O

If it's any consolation, I have a bad habit of chugging cola straight out of the bottle. One day I picked up a bottle and had a good slurp, only to find it was an old bottle and my other half had decanted the old oil from the deep fat fryer into it...

My thoughts exactly. My parents are always like 8O when they see how much salt I add to something.

Does anyone else love salt bagels too? Those things are my favorite lunch food.

I was just thinking, as I opened my new box of lovely grey organic rock salt (ohhhhhhh yes) and prepared my dinner - do any of you find you really crave salt?

Thoughts??

salt rocks. gray, natural salt dried from the sea with all the goodness and flavor still there - perfection. it's good in baths too. where is yours from? ijust got some french - now all out. hard to find that brand. oh well, there's always good organic soy sauce in a pinch.....

Mine's "Geo Organics" brand, harvested by hand from the Atlantic coast in Portugal... really yummy, still damp in the packet, absolute heaven. I don't like normal table salt (probably not so good as I have thyroid problems in the family and the added iodine would probably be a good thing), only rock salt really... far more flavoursome and raw and crunchy and tasty.

I'm not keen on things like pot noodles though, I find overly salted processed foods horrible - I can taste the salt but it doesn't taste right, if that makes sense, so I can't eat it. I'd rather add my own rock stuff.

I've never had them before, but they sound yummy! Are they ordinary bagels with a salt glaze?

Where I get them, yes, but they also embed big rock salt into the glaze. SOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD.

Especially if you ask them to put extra butter and asiago cheese on it.

...I'm not overweight :hmph: I'm actually a little bit too skinny :p
