i love rain. it's soothing to watch and listen to, i love the smell, the feeling when it comes, the cool breeze through my window. i also love walking through it when i don't mind getting wet.

I loove rain. I love the sound of it and the cozy feeling of being indoors when it's raining.

I love rain too! Although the best is the thunderstorms :) I don't necessarily like drizzly cold rain, but when it rains on a spring day I enjoy those days, the sound of rain is so soothing, and I love booming thunder.

i have absolutely no idea what a dopper man is :). but i'd say a bit of both. i really hate sun but i do. really really love rain ^^

Lol ;)

[Assuming you have Asperger]: Do you experience any "increase" in any of your Asperger symptoms when you are forced to be in bright sunlight? And if so, which symptoms?

Me personally, I feel stressed in sunlight, and calm and focused when it rains. I don't have to BE in the rain though, it's enough to know/hear that it rains outside. ;)

yeah i have aspergers :). and... um... i guess the symptoms do increase a tiny bit. but not to a big extent... i sometimes get a little stressed if i can't get somewhere cool or somthing when im really swetty. but other than that i actually put effort into keeping a cool head (not... litrally... heh. i mean like a calm mind) when its hot so... i guess that probably helps :). iv always been aware that heat can cause stress in everyone. so yeah. i try to keep a clear head. but i still like rain... just... because i do really ^^. although im not so fond of thunder like some others here have said :). but i can see why they might like it. :)

streaming through the rain - fantastic! Though not the sound of it banging on the conservatory roof. I loathe wind, rain without wind is perfection.

I love the rain, too. I love listening to it and I could stare up at the sky for hours, watching clouds roll in on a storm, lightning, and all that. I love to watch the snow. I'm fascinated by weather anyway, but especially the bad types. Out here, there is no weather, only smog and sun, and I'm tired of it. I miss the rain.

Me too.

You know, I thought I was alone with the rain thing, to feel absolutely suddenly like I'm alive and I can breathe because it's raining. Sometimes when it is cloudy here in the early morning, I used to think it looked like rain (I grew up in upstate New York, so I'm familiar with clouds a bit), but now I know it's just a 'marine layer' whatever that is. It's sort of soothing, but it just isn't going to produce any weather!

I would totally join that! I'm glad I'm not the only one. There's just something about the sound and the feel of it on my skin that's both exciting and comforting at the same time.

I like rain for a few reasons. The main one is it means that it's cloudy outside and I can actually see rather than having to rely on shadows and ground-based landmarks to see where I am. I also just deal with cold better - you can always put on more layers, but you can only take so many off, as I see it. I also like the feeling of water a lot, just as long as it doesn't get into my shoes and socks.

I don't really like getting my clothing or hair wet.

However, I really like being outdoors when it's raining, but under cover, so that I don't actually get rained on, but I can see and hear the rain, taste and feel the "rainy" air etc.

I also love thunderstorms - viewed from a safe place, of course. And as long as the power doesn't go out....

Hey, if we do the rain fan club, we could have that song "I'm only happy when it rains" as our theme song (it's by Garbage -- I mean the band.)
