I can’t really watch the news. I find it too upsetting. There have been times when I’ve heard about a horrible crime and ruminated on it for awhile (maybe a couple weeks) which caused horrible anxiety and sleep issues.

I can feel for and identify with the victim (or victims) so much it’s painful.

I'm now obsessed with the tragic event that took place during this - the president of the city of Gdańsk got attacked by a nutso with a knife and wounded on his stomach. He's in hospital now.

Recently I was obsessed with some tragic event that took place in Poland - some famous movie producer, the stepson of one of the richest men in Poland, fell out of the motorboat on the lake Kisajno and his body was found a couple of days later. https://newsbeezer.com/polandeng/an-acc ... 2-08-2019/

I studied anthropology in school, and even before college had a softspot in my heart for ….bigfoot!

In the decades since the notorious Patterson film of 1967 showing an alledged creature in the woods of California the experts have gone one way (its a guy in a gorilla suit) to the other way ("we don't see how even a big budget Hollywood film maker of that time could have faked it"). So when I got a new computer I got hooked on U Tube Bigfoot videos. But the subject gets a bit over whelming . An interested skeptic like myself cannot quite either buy bigfoot nor totally dismiss it. You can overdose on the the huge number of videos on the topic. Starts to warp your mind after awhile.

So to ween myself of off Bigfoot, I started to watch ...videos about the Jon Benet Ramsey case (like methadone treatment for heroin addiction). Got my fill of that after a while.

Now I think I have it under control. Im just a ...social imbiber of bigfoot vids. And of JBR vids.

9/11 was about the last story I obsessed on. I haven't watched or followed news of any format in years. I'm shamefully oblivious to the current stories or issues, but that's fine with me.

Currently, it's the U.S. Open tennis tournament-granted, it's not serious news, but good entertainment-and Rafael Nadal is in the semifinals.

I vaguely remember this happening when I was a kid and it being on the news.

Recently I read through a link on Facebook lots of fascinating details about Chernobyl and the people who live close by. The authorities want them to move away but they're saying this is home and they're healthy. And they actually are.

Rafael Nadal is in the final. I read a great article today summarizing his career and why he's such a good player. At 33, he's still going.

- The little girl who fell in the well in the 80s.

- The coalminers trapped in the mine shaft. (2000 maybe?)
