Wow......I wish I could shed the Aspie skin. I think I'm actually getting worse with age. I know the social anxiety part of it is. :(

The way I look at it is, Aspeger's (and autism) isn't a thing that you either have or don't. It's a set of traits. One can have some traits and not others. One can have traits to varying degrees. And how much one has particular traits can vary over time.

Getting to the point that one doesn't qualify for a diagnosis anymore does not mean that one never had Asperger's. It doesn't mean one doesn't have any aspie-ness. It's just about what side of an arbitrary line you happen to fall on at that moment.

I like the Aspie Quiz (link) because it doesn't give black and white results. I think that's much more realistic than dividing the word into simply having Asperger's or not.
