The reason I posted this is to see if the percentages here match the real world.

Of course this isn't scientific, but it's interesting.

Right handed, though I bet you get someone who's ambidexterous complaining soon that they don't have an option.

Right handed, and my left may as well not bother existing.

Depends what I'm doing - right handed for bigger (more obvious) tasks like writing, left handed for a lot of little things.

Hmmm... I think there was already a thread posted about this, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. As for me, I'm left-handed- mostly.

I am only wired to use my right side effectively. Whenever I need to do something involving leading with my left hand or foot, I am completely mixed up. Recently, in my yellow belt test for Taekwondo, I was asked to "switch feet" (put my left foot forward and start with my left hand), and I just could not get my hand or foot to cooperate. It was kind of embarassing to screw up in front of all those people. Writing is getting better because it is the only option when my right hand gets so sore from taking notes.

Ambidextrous, trained righty. I was six years old before settling on right-handedness.That's about the time I started public school.

My youngest daughter consciously made up her mind at the age of 7 to be right-handed because it would be easier.

right handed, but with lots of confusion between the two. i can't tell right from left and have to think about it and still have problems. someone once told me to look at my thumb and index finger and the one that makes an L is left. i looked and said, they both make an L.

My left side is stronger, and I almost certainly would have been left-handed had I not been forced to used my right hand more most things. I could easily be ambidextrous with a little practice.

Like the person above, I get HORRIBLY confused with left and right. I'm a good map-reader, other than that I have to point in the direction I want the driver to turn, because I cannot sort out the right direction in my head *laugh* I'm always making mistakes with left and right. It's strange, because I don't have any confusion with words, numbers, compass directions etc... only left and right.

Right handed but my left eye is dominant. I can write backwards with my left hand and can bat left handed. 8O Right was always the hand I wrote with.

My youngest daughter (suspected AS) is a lefty and always had trouble with left and right. Her Montessori teacher was a lefty also and taught her, when she got confused to hold up both hands with her index and thumb in an "L". The left hand will from an "L" and that is left. She's 27 and still holds up her hands.

i get confused with a lot stuff like that. i'm always getting things backwards or can't figure out which way things go.

I don't know anyone else who is so mixed up with what hand they use...

Left for writing
Right for ironing
Right for the computer mouse
Right for batting in cricket or baseball/teeball
Left or right for tennis (but I really suck at it anyway)
Left for throwing things
Right for archery
Right for playing snooker or pool (as for tennis)
I am right-eyed (my left eye is almost useless)
Left or right for kicking (stones or football)
