There are some other people with AD(H)D here, diagnosed or suspected.

I thought it interesting to know what type of AD(H)D you have and to talk about it. The people with AD(H)D are as different as autistic people can be too and the symptoms and traits of AD(H)D can differ very much. Just as with autism, positives are associated with AD(H)D that can also vary a lot between people.

What AD(H)D do you have?

It doesn't matter if you know it or are unsure, just say so if you want to. Remember that they're all called differently depending on where you live, so try to make sure that if you talk about, others know what type of AD(H)D you're talking about.

What's problematic about your AD(H)D?

What's good about your AD(H)D?

My ADHD is the one with hyperactivity and attention regulation dysfunction and impulsivity.

Objectively speaking, a huge negative about my ADHD is probably my impulsivity, but I am very used to it. My concentration is badly affected and while I am used to this too, but in the recent months that got to me. It really limits me in doing some awesome things that I want to do that require at least normal concentration.

Positives about my AD(H)D is the extra energy I have to spend. The spontaneity is also handy, especially because of my so-not-spontaneous autism. I suppose I have a approach that's more hands-on, because thinking can be awesome, but I feel very enthusiastic about trying out and making things real.

Out of interest I have a few factual questions to anyone who wants to answer, even if they don't have AD(H)D.

Do you know the term hypoactivity or is it used where you live?

What do you call the ADHDs where you live?

More-or-less...I have combined-type...mostly inattentive...with the moodiness of Limbic ADD.....I (hee hee)...currently lack the focus to really go into it and I only just skimmed your post... but I will get back to you...On the really big online test I used to take, I qualify for several different types of ADD...but I have a sort of slow bumbling hyperactivity...

The severe lack of organization and executive dysfunction causes me grief to no end, and I dislike the fact that I am never able to enjoy anything to it's fullest because of the perpetual flux of mind-static...

I've been diagnosed with ADD. I don't know of anything good about it.

I just got diagnosed with inattentive type ADHD. I guess it makes sense, because i always forget to remember things, can't stay organized, can't concentrate on things for very long that aren't interesting, lose track of things, etc. But before getting diagnosed it wasn't something i'd looked into much or thought about.. My family had always said that i couldn't possibly have ADHD because i'm so obsessive and keep my attention on one singular thing for so long, despite the fact that i do stupid things like leave my keys in my car and forget to pick up my paycheck from work WAY too much for a person my age.. lol. I think i have poor executive functioning in a lot of ways also.. my simple problem solving skills are pretty good when i get my mind on something, though.

The doctor who saw fit to prescribe me meds did not say I had any particular type of ADD.
I have just been on ADD message boards and have been reading books about it and whatnot since I was in high school.
