Do you have to have things organized? I do, If I see something that is not organized, I start organizing it instantly.
Does this have anything to do with AS???? Thanks, Parrotnut!

I'm either completely disorganised or organised to the extreme. When I feel like organising I will put things in order of size, type, colour etc depending on what I want at the time. I need organisation to cope with everything around me, so I know where everything is and everything is in control. I just don't have the skills to organise myself in a more balanced way instead of all or nothing!

Certain things I have to organize, like my socks I put in day order
I think it can be an Aspie thing although I've always thought mine was more an OCD thing

I pretty much live in chaos and don't organize anything. I don't even match socks when they come out of the dryer.

My wife on the other hand, who is NT, organizes absolutely everything. Don't ever put a spice back in the cupboard not in alphabetical order! You'll hear about it for sure.

Yep, biro, I'm just the same. No happy medium. Some things are easier to organize than others I think.

I can't work without organization. I also often don't have the ability to organize things at will because the task seems too overwhelming to know where to start.

Ah, the predicament of the ADHD/Autistic.

This is me, as well. One of the TAs I share an office with thinks I'm very organized because I have color-coded binders and spirals for all of my classes and all my lab paperwork is sorted neatly. I told her that it's because I'm actually terminally disorganized. If I don't at least start out like this, I'll be so completely lost I won't be able to think within a week.

I'm kind of the opposite of organized:D I'm a very messy person and it doesn't bother me at all except when it has to do with my special interests. But even there I sort of always try to organize but my inherent messiness makes it nearly impossible.

I have laundry over every inch of the bedroom floor, I can't find the spoons in the kitchen, But dear god have you ever seen the most organized bookshelf in all of creation? That's what I do. My books are organised alphabetically, by weight, and if I acquire enough, by author. Forget laundry though. I just go with one green sock and a white one instead of trying to find a pair.

Definitely! There are lots of things in my room that have to be organized and put in certain places. It's the same with things like school bags, as there are certain stuff that have to be in a certain order.

I'm very organized. I like everything to be in its place. It makes life easier. I hate wasting time looking for something because it wasn't put back where it belongs. I like keeping information organized in binders and notebooks. Today I bought shelf organizers and organized my kitchen cabinets because they needed it badly.
