I for example, have been known to eat spices, sometimes to get a feeling for the taste but other times just because i like the taste, like pepper, paprika, and garlic. Most recently i started on Montreal Steak Seasoning.

No, but I will eat the same thing over and over and over. I might eat yogurt for breakfast everyday for a year and then switch to cereal........ I may also eat the yogurt for lunch, as well.

I don't think I eat anything weird, per se; however, people do find it odd when I object to eating certain foods on the grounds that it isn't the right time. For example, it took a long time, but after much effort my wife got me to eat eggs and bacon after 12:00. I still feel kind of awkward eating them, but I can.

unconventional things I have eaten on its own:

-baking soda (to cure upset stomach)
-rock/coarse salt (craving)
-that homemade craft 'dough' that has a lot of salt in it (gave me a stomach ache but I craved the salt)
-dry cat food
-dry dog food
-cinnamon sticks
-dry iced tea (not mixed in water)
-dry cereal (out of a cup)

I think the food I eat isn't strange, but I'm a vegan and a lot of people think that all vegan food is "weird" (even when it's just plain vegetables...)

I often eat condiments by themselves.

Also (I mentioned this in my post about weird eating habits) I like to eat plain jam right out of the jar. Yum!

I've done that before. I like strawberry better than grape.

I've been known to eat all of the salt at the bottom of pretzel bags. Generally, though, I stay away from raw spices.

I've done that with potato chip bags.

Some people think I'm weird because I like to eat Vienna sausages straight out of the can. I do the same with tuna. They also make faces whenever I mention eating tofu or, one of my favorites, Tofurkey lunch meat. Mmmm. Some people even think I'm weird because I like pineapple on my pizza. Go figure.

The world could not survive without condiments! There's at least one perfect condiment for every actual food - the adventure is finding just the right one(s) in every case. I often blend condiments to get just the right flavor explosion. Actually, I consider real food just a vehicle for getting the condiment to my mouth.
