What happens if you get a meltdown during a formal dinner party or in your apartment?

Leave, or tell everyone to leave. I don't "blow up", rather, I just withdraw and escape.

However, since I wouldn't be at a party or having one, it's moot.

Won't happen. I don't get lot of people in my apartment. No no no.


Dinner party, I just leave the room.

If you can manage to say it, you could say you aren't feeling well, got a head ache or something. If you want to leave or just get out for some air or hide outside people should accept that excuse as you obviously wont look well either.

I've never been to a formal dinner party, but if I did, and I could see an impending meltdown, I'd say that I wasn't feeling well, excuse myself, and leave.

I concur with the general consensus about the dinner party, politely excuse yourself.

In your apartment you could say you don't feel well and need to go lie down or something and hopefully they would take the hint and leave.

OOoohhhhhh...I hate formal dinner parties. Too many people, and they all want to hug or shake hands! I had a full blown meltdown. Not good at all. I had to tell them that I was feeling sick. I would have to say that tell them you feel sick.
