I don't know if another thread was made for this book, and I'm sorry if there is one, but I just finished reading Look Me in the Eye today and I thought it was fantastic. Its a book about a guy with AS who designed exploding guitars for kiss and all kinds of other stuff. Has anyone else read it?

I love that book! It's what made my dad realize that he has Asperger's too. I remember the part where he talked about the woman in the office who got annoyed at him because he made the wrong response to the question; I was all proud of him for saying the right thing and then she got pissed. My sister knew immediately what he should have said, though.

That book is one more reason that I hate Kiss now, though. First, Gene Simmons is on the Autism Speaks-sponsored "Rock Autism" campaign which says "help us put an end to autism" (makes me sad that Dio says that part, I love Dio). Why does he want to end autism? It made your concerts what they are! Second, after watching his Dr. Pepper commercial, it's clear that he doesn't actually want to end autism. He doesn't give a crap about it at all. He's way more excited to talk about Dr. Pepper than autism.

I have it. I haven't read it. I do that with books sometimes.

I read it not too long ago, I could really relate to alot of what he said. I'm trying to get my dad to read it, since he seems to have as many aspie traits as me.

I read it and enjoyed it. It described my son almost perfectly up to the teen years part. Can also include the incident with the magazines and leaving one in a church too--ds isn't old enough for that yet!

I read it. It was fascinating to me. My 4 yr.old AS son doesn't seem to be anything like this guy though. I guess I will wait and see!

I loved it. It also comes as a book on CD and was really well read! I love that i prefer it to reading I can listen while doing many other things.
