Dislike of the color yellow

I love yellow. I think anyone who canwear yellow should. It is the color of the sunshine. It adds light to everything. When I do highlights in my drawings I use yellow or yellow mixed with white. It may not be a good idea to look at a big block of solid yellow for too long, driving the rods and cones crazy in your eyes, but it is a great color IMO.

This thread makes me laugh because yellow has always been one of my two least favourite colours. The other one is blue. I like yellow more than blue though, but mostly only when it's combined with red and orange. The room I'm sitting in currently is red, orange, yellow, and brown, and it makes me very happy indeed.

I love some yellows and hate some other yellows... I only hate colors if they leave a bad taste in my mouth. I get pretty uncomfortable synesthesia with colors, so if a color is too...repulsive?...I can get extremely nauseous.

I have a similar dislike for the color red.

I could see why some people don't care for the colour, red. Red = blood.

I love bright primary colors, as well as fluorescent colors. I also like black.

I despise pastels.

I also hate the color pink (even neon pink) with a passion. Always have, always will.

I'm not fond of yellow either, because I consider it an 'ugly' color. Except bright neon highlight yellow.

But aside that, researchers discovered that a baby placed in a yellow room will cry more than one placed in a blue or red room. This is because yellow is the color that the brain and eyes have to work the hardest to 'process'.

Yeah, this thread is funny. I don't like wearing yellow and won't decorate my house with it. It can be a little overwhelming and make me feel sick. I also don't consider it a wearable colour for most people.

I'm not that fond of yellow. Colours like red, orange, yellow, brown, purple, pink I'm not really fond of. Dark murky colours and bright colours I don't like.
I prefer pale blues and greens. Pale yellow might be ok. I like soft earthy tones.

I agree with this! I can pull off wearing yellow but I can't even think of anyone else I know personally that can. I have a light yellow sundress that is known as the dress on another forum I'm on since they all love it, too!

I can safely say that yellow isn't for everyone, but if you're one of the few lucky people that can wear it, go for it! I do think it's a very happy and peaceful color

Ugh! I can't stand yellow, and agree with the first poster in that it gives me a headache, but I also find it blinding. I don't like pink either. My favorite colors are blue and green.

yellow = pus, vomit, infected/toxic waste disposal bins, NOT sunshine (sunshine is white)

LOL - in small bits on a large field of blue or green, I can tolerate a bit of yellow. For me, picking an avatar is a small cyber-chore to be over and done with, not a representation of myself.
