Some people are repulsed by some insects but not others. List (provide a picture too) the insects that repulse you and the ones that you like. I'm always inspired when I see Bear Grylls eating every single edible insect he comes across and I aspire to be able to do that too but I cringe just thinking about eating the insects on my bad list.

Heres the ones that freak me out:

House Centipedes - I always see these bastards in showers. I stay well clear of them.

Garden Centipedes - Compared to those house insects these aren't that bad at all. I'd rather eat one of these than a house centipede.
Image

Earwig - I think its those pincers that repulse me
Image

Skinny spiders - Spiders scare the crap outta me. I usually have 4 or 5 of them living in my room, they don't bother me and they keep other insects out but I still havent got used to them.

Have to admit even if I was starving to death I don't know if I'd eat that thing.

Heres the ones I like

Of the four species you mentioned, only earwigs are insects.

Anyhow, I don't really like roaches. I like stick insects, ladybugs, beetles, bees, and a lot of other insects.

Non-insect arthropods I like include spiders and crustaceans.

I like all the crustaceans too. The only arachnids I don't like are spiders. Scorpions are cool. Besides cnidarians and ctenaphora, the arthropods is the phylum that fascinates me the most.

I think everyone likes lady bugs. And praying (preying?) mantis' are cool.

But I hate... Hate... HATE SPIDERS!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!

Well, littler spiders don't bother me so much. It's the bigger, uglier things that make me squirm. I hate them so much that I've converted my wife to my way of thinking - she used to love all God's creatures, but now sees spiders for the concubines of Satan that they are.

I love insects. My general rule is don't be creeped out by what can't hurt you. Wasps and ants annoy me, but I'm not scared of them and for everytime I've been stung I have killed atleast 100.

Ugh Wasps... those are the ones that freak me out. I don't like to be stung and they tend to follow me when i walk outside my house. i end up running down the stairs of our deck everyday just so they wont catch me.

Note: I know that not all of these are technically insects. Just getting that out of the way.

Like:
-lepidoptera (butterflies and moths, both adult and caterpiller forms)
-most beetles (especially fireflies, which are technically beetles)
-myriapods
-mantids
-spiders
-grasshoppers
-stick and leaf insects
-dragonflies (favorite kind)

Dislike:
-mosqitoes
-houseflies
-bees, wasps and ants

I like just about anything alive. Insects all look so curious - the variety is really profound. The only thing I really do not want in my space is cockroaches. I don't want to kill them either - I abhor killing things - so I try to keep the kitchen as clean and unfriendly to them as possible....knock on wood.

I love praying mantises, dragonflies, grasshoppers, ladybugs, butterflies and moths.

I don't dislike any insects unless they're mushy and slimy, like grubs.

The only insect I really like is the firefly because it lights up and it can't bite/kill you. I tolerate lady bugs.

I've never actually seen one of those, only in films, but I would like to see one. I may make an exception to my usual stance on insects for those.

They're pretty cool. I used to catch them when I was little. I think they come out spring/summer.
