Experience-sharing project for learning to control emotions
I would like to start an online project in which people post their experiences of introspection and of learning to understand their emotions. During adolescence, I recall that my emotions were quite intense, that I could not control them directly and that I felt pain whenever someone tried to get me to feel something. Through a great deal of introspection, I gradually learned to control my emotions, and later my affective states, by finding the words to describe these states, as well as recognizing (verbally) that people's opinions should not influence these states.
It might turn out that many of us who have gradually learned to understand our emotions and affective states have had similar experiences, and we might be able to help others this way. It can be especially useful when another person's story helps us remember what we ourselves have experienced in the learning process.
The project will likely take place on a collaborative blog. Is anyone interested in taking part in this?
