Now people generally still don't like me. Some people like, but they're not my friends. And I'm never sure if they're honest.

Sounds a lot like me. I can't trust people, which might be the root of my problem.

I never was really bullied by people, I was picked on, but it was just the type of picking on that could happen to anyone.

Yep, I got this a couple of times. It was not a big surprise actually and not that I cared. There are a couple of people that are important to me and they do like me. As for everybody else, they are at perfect liberty to like or not to like me, I don't ever think about it.

I got it a few times and it stung. It eventually stopped and then one day I got it in college and it was like a slap to the face.

Nobody ever likes me anyways, I don't even understand why I'm still in this world?

Because you may possibly have a purpose.

Mee tooooooo. I was told that as well as "your ugly!" and all. I was even told "nobody likes you because you are ugly". Since it was apparent no one liked me (I had no friends), I reasoned that this must be true, LOL. It did get better in college though.

I got this too. "Ewww, you're fat and ugly." Or "Why's the sped in our class now? We don't need ret*ds here." That's usually when I revel in being able to read and write circles around the twits. That and I didn't even have to try to get an A in most classes in middle school and high school (except math).

Now in college, I have lots of friends. I get texts asking to hang out and stuff like that. At first I was confused as to what was different with these people that made them accept me. I thought that they were playing a cruel joke so I didn't let them get too close initially. Then some friends asked why I close myself off to others, I told them a variation of this and they understood. I'm accepted by most within my social circle now. I like it. ^_^

I was informed of this not too infrequently by some of the students when I was in one of two schools, which I subsequently attended for a year and a half between them, and just did not adjust to. Before and after that difficult period from 10-12 years of age, I had made a couple of close friends in school and had that little bit more in the way of security.

My typical response would have been "...and?"

I don't really understand what "I like you" or "I don't like you" actually means. I am so bad at personal stuff that they are just words attached to some abstract concept. I do know that if someones doesn't like me they will not be nice to me.
