Has anyone had a sleep study done and did it help? Were the medical staff familiar with ASD and what besides sleep apnea may it help :?:

I had a sleep study for apnea before I was aware/dx with ASD. So I can't answer that question. But they also look for things like sleep paralysis, and something about excessive sleepiness during the day (they made me take naps the next day). They also found out I clench my teeth at night which the dentist hadn't yet picked up on.

It was really good for me.

like Spyral said, i had it done before i was DXed with AS. i think they also check your brain waves while you sleep to monitor for seizures or abnormalities. and they i think they watch for sleepwalking and stuff like that. i was hooked up to all kinds of monitors.
