Would it make you upset if you went up on stage and people would smile/laugh as you talked even if you weren't saying anything funny?

---

I'm just wondering. It would make me upset, because I would feel like I am being mocked. I know that I speak in a particular manner that is pretty autistic-like, and it doesn't make me happy if people find it funny. There's a story that goes along with this question, but I will not post it here as it's about someone else and they might very well be a member on this forum. You can feel free to PM me if you're really interested in the details.

Yeah, I would love that, because it would then give me more confidence to say something that actually WAS funny. If that kept happening, I wouldn't like it. But sometimes if I'm on stage, I'll make faces, and that's good enough to get people to laugh. The AS face never fails...and it's my trump card. If I can't think of anything, I make that face, and I tell the audience it's my mad cow that is keeping me silent.

I would be upset since I would have no idea why they were laughing or how to react.

If it is clearly not funny and couldn't possibly be interpreted as funny yes.

Nice one.
Nothing like that has happened, though.

Something like that happened to me, and I just got really embarrassed.
