Perhaps you should sever all ties with that part of the family. Tell them that if they don't get on your cousin to knock it off, you are dead to them forever. I'd probably just loose it and show the little brat how things work in the real world and slap her little smart mouth if I was in your sitution.

Interesting choice of username. A post like this makes me wonder if it's a warning.

From Wikipedia:

"Ivy Mike was the codename given to the first United States nuclear test of a fusion device, in which a major part of the explosive yield came from nuclear fusion. It was detonated on November 1, 1952 by the United States at 11°40′15″N 162°11′53″E / 11.6709°N 162.1980°E / 11.6709; 162.1980 on Enewetak, an atoll in the Pacific Ocean, as part of Operation Ivy. The device was the first full test of the Teller-Ulam design, a staged fusion bomb, and is generally considered the first successful test of a hydrogen bomb."

You haven't told us a whole lot about yourself. If she's 7 and you're 9, your parents may just see it as "kids will be kids." I get the impression the age difference is much greater than that, but I don't know - I don't think you've ever said your age. You may have, and I missed it.

Have you spoken to your parents to let them know that this really bothers you? Kids will be kids, but your parents shouldn't be encouraging her.

Thanks. As I said, I had the impression you were an adult, but wasn't sure. So, have you tried talking to your folks and letting them know how much this bothers you?

And, the wiki quote was directed at Ivy. Maybe I wasn't direct enough - I was hinting that someone who names himself after the world's first nuke, AND posts rude comments in someone's thread, may be taken as trolling.

1)talk to your parents and let them know that you don't think it's appropriate and it upset you if they ignore you, talk to her parents.
2)if it happens again, instead of trying to make up a snappy comeback maybe ask her why she thinks it's okay to talk to an adult like that. if she doesn't know about you being an aspie explain it to her and tell her it's rude to make fun of peoples differences
3)keep in mind that a bratty child is still a child and refrain from smacking her mouth
4)if none of those things work take your dinner into a different room and avoid the situation.

I orginaly though the OP was an adult but when someone else mintioned they thought he was nine, I thought he was a kid as well. I don't read very well because the letters and words get all jumbled up. I gave him advice to sever ties with the family because if they let the girl get away with being a brat, they don't seem to vaule the OP and aren't worth the time of the OP. You can explain until the cows come home with some people and they will still tell you to lighten up and not to take things personaly. When taunts and bullying is about you, it IS personal. They don't want to change and want to remain ignorant.

So... your 7 year old cousin is being an absolute brat, and your response is to complain that she's more social, creative, and outgoing!? Well, ya know, if she is, she's not using it very well.

(Besides, if it makes you feel better, I've watched videos of 18 month olds doing things I can't do yet, socially. And I compensate well enough to go to college.)

I smell a self-appointed critic. One of my pet peaves is self-appointed critics. You've got to build yourself up, not put yourself down.

okay then. let her irritate you instead of sticking up for yourself. it's not a competition you know. it's your choice and you choose to allow her behaviour to continue by not doing anything to possibly prevent it
