i'm not all that familiar with psychopathy to be honest ( although my uncle was diagnosed as a psychopath but he is also schizophrenic so i don't know exactly how it manifests) but isn't it a totally different mindset? the main symptom of AS being the way we view the world, that view being very different to that of a psychopath, ( and THEIR view being also their main symptom), i don't see how two different mindsets could coexist in an individual. Wouldn't that become split personality disorder or something?

Psychopaths dont know what love is, and they dont know that they dont know what love is. They are studying other peoples feelings, like admiration or shame for example. And they are searching for adrenaline cicks and such.
I would say it is only (if at all) similar to AS, because both have a different consciousness; are not floating with the people in situations, but are aware of the situations on a different level.

The overwhelming majority of people on the spectrum probably wouldn't be considered psychopaths. We tend to have a strict view of morality, furthermore when we see some of those traits in ourselves we tend to react to those traits with a form of revulsion. A psychopath is someone that gives into those traits and doesn't realize what they are doing is wrong, or just don't care. Someone on the spectrum is more inclined to not go down that road.

Just because we share some similar charecteristics doesn't mean we will be like them, because we have a lot of traits that set us apart from them as well.

Aspies have a strong sense of morality? I've often wondered about this, because I don't. Just foresighted reasoning and ethics. "Right" and "wrong" don't make much sense to me.

I'm sure someone who has autism could also be a psychopath but they wouldn't act like a typical autistic so perhaps they would never be diagnosed?
