People tell them that I have no problem picking up on emotions, however, I score miserably low on the Mind in the Eyes test. Why is this? If I don't have a problem with reading emotions, what makes the Mind in the Eyes test impossible for me? Is it because they just show the eyes?

Yes. It takes a lot more to pick up on emotion correctly than just looking at the eyes. You need to see the entire face, notice a person's tone of voice, body language--everything.
