I'm not sure if this is an autistic trait or what, but I'm able to imagine what people look like, with surprising accuracy most of the time, just by listening to them speak. I don't have to have ever seen them in person before, I just have to be able to hear them clearly. It's very strange, and kind of cool too.

Anyone else here able to do something like that?

I often associate a "look" with a voice. But most of the time the appearance I imagine is not the right one.

I always have a preconception as to what a person looks like from their voice, but its usually not right.

I do this too. I'm better with putting a voice to an image but not the other way around.

I can't do that. I can imagine what someone is like by looking at a picture of them without having actually met them. And I'm right most of the time.

No. I can barely even imagine what people look like when I know what they look like.

I have to bring up a memory of the person in order to picture them, otherwise it's nearly impossible for me to picture them. This even goes for close friends and family

I remember people's faces best when I recall memories of pictures of them. I can imagine even my mother's face better by remembering a photo of her than remembering a memory or just trying to think of her, and the same goes for everyone else.

Something like that, maybe. I can hear the status of a four-stroke engine. I just can't make this work on a two-stroke. So four-stroke motorcycles and most cars. I can also adjust fuel/air mixture and ignition-point by hearing.
I am not a car repair-man, btw.
