46. Ask them questions like "where did you go? What did you do? What are you reading? What are you thinking about? Why are you laughing?"

47. After the inevitable answer, ask "well, who would know?"

48) Angrily deny that you were about to engage in a drawn out and predictable series of questions and answers, and then engage in that highly predictable series of questions and answers, slightly rephrased.

Most people are so unaware of their subconscious tells, it's scary.

Oh God that one annoys me to no end. I mostly don't speculate to others that I may have a form of AS, but they have the same reaction to the word "introverted".

50. take them shopping with you and then randomly walk off somewhere leaving them alone in the middle of a crowd

But how can you not love prime numbers? They're wonderfully tantalizing with their pseudo-patterns and mysterious, enigmatic logic!!

51) Tell them you guys are leaving and not leave for another hour
52) Make plans but you don't ever say when you are going to do it and what time you are leaving and what day

If you are speaking from experience then I understand your pain.

I am innocent of committing all but 52 of the above annoying things.

I can relate to a lot of the ones listed so far...

53. Treating someone like they're mentally ret*d after finding out they're on the autistic spectrum

54. Making fun of them for stimming

55. Saying bad things about their special interests in front of them

56) Say "just be yourself,"

57) ...and then get offended, p*ssed off, or weirded-out, and/or slink away when that doesn't turn out the way you though it would.

58) Ignore all factual information involved in communication and instead interpret the attempted information exchange in terms of strange, complicated, competitive, psychological motivations that have nothing to do with it.

59) Resort to intimidation by numbers when you make a mistake and have to face up to it, especially when other person has no "team" to back them up at all. I.e. if you make a mistake with patient in a hospital, bring to bear the ire of the rest of the hospital staff, to "teach them a lesson" for asking about it.

[edited to get the numbers right, due to my slow typing]

60) Yell at them to talk when they go silent not knowing what to say, but when they do talk tell them that what they're saying is uninteresting and stupid and proceed to tell them to shut up.

I was made fun of a lot as a child for this and ridiculed by my father, so #54 hits home with me.

I haven't been picked on for it in ages but I occasionally get caught doing it when I don't realize I'm doing it. My stimming is always finger tapping or finger flicking... I tend to zone out quite often while doing this. So here is a 28 year old man, who appears to be daydreaming while rapidly flicking his fingers, when a coworker walks in and blurts out.. "wtf is wrong with you? Are you ok?". Not to mention I doubt I am making a very NT facial expression during this. I can laugh about it now.

When I was a child and I had a meltdown I used to bang my head against the wall. My dad brushed it off as "he's having a tantrum". Now he kind of pokes fun at those times.

61. Give them a responsibility, like writing a column for your website, then never post said column, (Alex).

62.) Move their stuff around without asking.
63.) Intrude on their personal space.
64.) Repeatedly interrupt them with light talk while they're concentrating on something of interest.
65.) Give crazy imprecise/ambiguous instructions and then insult them by acting like they're "slow" for not following.
66.) Say something sarcastic like "you're a real talker" or make fun of them for not acting the life of the party.

67.) Bring said aspie to a restaurant on his birthday and tell the restaurant staff it's his birthday so they clap their hands and sing that stupid happy happy birthday song drawing the attention of all the other patrons who stare at him while he blows out the candles on a cake.

68.) Say a false statement about his or her special interest within earshot.

69.) Get upset when this statement is corrected.

70.) Have angry outbursts (door slamming, stomping, yelling...).
