Anyone ever feel like there is a kind of global joke going on which you just aren't getting? Presuming you are mostly exposed to NTs, it's like the NTs orchestrated something, although not in a complicated way, more in a second nature way, to seem a certain way in relation to your situation...it could just be the result of talking to others hardly ever, but when I do, it's almost like it was planned, like they're on some wavelength which is preprogrammed and you're on yours and they just don't quite make any sense together except when they don't meet...Some NTs seem programmed to handle your AS, though...usually those well-educated in psychology..

I don't know. I usually just laugh along with them, which invariably gets me into trouble sometimes... Also, I learned that I can't just um laugh after just anything I say... I don't get it. Just gotta wait for the cue...

Er, was this what you're talking about?

I feel like people who are naturally used to dealing with all sorts of people don't care as much and can accept those sorts of things. They are rarer the higher up you go on the perceived social totem pole, though. I think it's because it's more constraining up there.

Sometimes it feels that way. But start to actually believe it. That will turn to paranoia and anti-psychotics. The world is mostly indifferent. Even NTs are mostly indifferent to those outside their immediate circle of influence.

The funny thing is that the "facts" of the above, which I know, don't always override the sense impressions supporting my sensitivities, like hearing something that could be a voice which is really just a projection from my own thoughts, and then doing a bit of sloppy mental work for how the outside voice could be true. I basically rationalize this tendency as feeling like I'm missing out on information due to the fact that I pick up all kinds of signals others wouldn't detect due to the inability to filter out excess stimuli, and unconsciously making up for what I could be missing according to what's on my mind anyway. I come up with a story for it all sometimes which I think can sometimes get out of hand.

Oh, I see. Sums it up to processing differences. We're hard-wired to do different tasks, or to do tasks differently. Or we're all running the original DOS.
Sensitive indeed. Tricky to network. Not as user friendly, but ridiculously stable (one would hope *edit* at least the os is.) Sheesh. Sometimes I can't even freakin' draw the lines of connection.

Twice I've been puzzled by more or less the same joke. First time while talking to a friend of a friend he told me he works as a Baker, a few minutes later he tells everyone else that I believed him when he told me he was a Baker and they all burst out laughing. I still can't find anything funny about it. Another time someone from work told me he was born in London, a couple of hours later everyone is laughing because I believed he was born in London. Still don't see the funny side of that one either.

The NTs are all secretly pretending there is a joke just to make you feel uncomfortable. It is an unkind trick.
