I asked my farther to give me honest truth and he said to me "James you are an emotional shell" and he has also said before "You have no emotion?" He also said "Sometimes you can have emotion"

What does he mean by this? Lack of facail expresssions? I do show facial expressions i think?

I think he meant: "james, stop asking other people who you are, or they will hurt your feelings like I just did".

Just be what you are and stop letting his off-the-cuff comments get to you.

it sounds like he has various conflicting opinions on your ability to exhibit or perhaps to even feel emotion.

I think it means lack of facial expression or a general cold demeanour?

Right.
You can't help if you're like that.
I'm like that too.
Accept it, and tell him to accept it too.

Exactley if anything it just makes us more interesting. Everyone is unique in thier own way and lack of facial expressions is kinda cool cause its unusual.

It sounds like you confuse him. He also sounds like he's a pretty rigid guy himself. Sounds like his ideas and concepts of how people are supposed to react and what constitutes 'emotion' are very fixed and unmoveable. He's only reading what he sees on the outside - as most people do - without considering that there may be more going on inside. 'Emotional shell' is a pretty good indication that he's only reading what he sees on the surface and that he sees so little he thinks the inside is empty.

I think all you can do is tell him what kind of emotions you have - outside of an argument or conflict. Ask him to explain his comments and why he said them. I'm hoping he cares enough to listen and learn. He may even be shocked to learn how much you do feel.
