I think I can sing and I'm thinking about joining our local (non religious) choir after I return from holiday.

My 5yr old daughter has a lovely voice, also pretty strong for her age. She goes to Scottish Opera classes for little ones. The kids don't get actual singing lessons, they just learn songs and actions. I'm not a pushy Mum by any standards, but she loves it and is good at it, so I'm all for it. After trying loads of after school classes, where she refused to participate or crawled around like a dog, this has been the best thing I've enrolled her in.

I learned to growl recently, but my mother heard it today and... well, she doesn't like this type of vocal :P. However, she said that I had done it correctly.

I'm musical almost since my birth, maybe because my parents are musicians. I singed and rocked rhythmically in my cot when I was hungry (I remember this).

I'm actually a pretty good singer. I attended a professional academy of music when I was younger. I also taught myself how to yodel at age 6.

I have pretty wide vocal range and strong voice, but not enough talent to sing well and clearly. Anyway, I like to sing, just for myself, it makes me feel better.

Maybe I should say liked, because I don't sing recently. Maybe I became more sociophobic, afraid and ashamed. I tried to sing one song while writing this post, but sounds faded somewhere in my mouth. I feel like I'm turning nonverbal.

I've had people tell me both that I'm a great singer (and I know they were being honest) and that I suck, so I'm not quite sure.

remembering one's infancy is a sign of intellectual giftedness.

Yep, I can sing, though I get terrible stage fright if I do it in front of an audience...

Yes. I'm a reasonable second tenor, in my fifth year with a local Christian men's choir
(principally spirituals and gospel, but also some more conventionally religious music).

I will put it this way. I was singing earlier and my wife thought I was gasping for breath. My mother once told me that when I sing I sound like a dying cow.

Look into obscure metal bands. They growl a lot.

I don't sing, don't want to sing, and no one can make me sing.

i'm always singin' along with my various music CDs, but most of the music is written too high for my dark baritone voice to sing along with- IOW most popular music is written for men with tenor voices. that sucks. :x

Nope, I cannot sing for toffee.

When I was a child I hated singing myself, so when the rest of the children sang in assembly, I used to just listen.
My mum said I used to sing when I was a toddler, but since then she's never, ever heard me sing. When I say, ''what's that song called, by (so-and-so)?'' and she says, ''sing it to me'', and I almost get into a rage.

How do NT pop stars sing then, if it's something to do with the Aspie brain?
