Difficult test to do, lot of answers are too much black/white. What I wonder is what the reasoning is behind that, would realy want to read something about that. Actually I send an email to the address that was in the top of the article, who knows I get an answer.

My score was 142.

I was given this test to take about 2 - 3 weeks ago, and I scored about 158.
I agree with what some have said that some questions are too black and white. A few times I had to let him put 'never' down for me, if my experience wasn't as severe as the question implied etc. But I'm sure 158 is close enough.
I've been refered to a local AS service anyway. Now, more waiting.

I had to skip a few questions and some I answered more than one box so I went with the adult/child one on those.

My score is 145

I came up with 68 3s and 8 0s... so somewhere between 204 and 216. Lol.

I got 222, but I think some of the questions don't suit me.

For example, the ones about not knowing how another person feels are hard to answer. If it was rewritten with animal instead of person, I would have scored less. I'm clueless with people, I relate better with animals, except dogs, haha

I asked the person who designed this test about the style of the questions, more specific about the black/white nature of it. She said that it had taken them 4 years and that 5 ASD adults had been involved in the designing, making the same type of comments as many of us do here on WP. Her advice is to take the test with a specialist, and that there is room for interpretation, or to leave questions unanswered.

That's good, you emailed them? I guess it's just unfortunate that I didn't take the test with a specialist, he only has a little experience with AS, and didn't understand where I was coming from. I'm sure it doesn't matter, it just annoys me having wrong information passed along..

I can understand that it is frustrating. For adults a good ASD specialist is hard to find. In my case I never got any further then a psychologist and a psychiatrist labeling me with a growing list of DSM labels. The things that realy mattered most to me (like possibly loosing my job) was never discussed. Useless... :x

I scored 158.
I took this test a couple of months ago. I scored a little lower but an NT friend looked at it and corrected me on a couple of things  I also tried not to analyse the questions quite so much this time :)

102, I guess that is kind of high. A lot of them were 1's, stuff I did as a kid I don't do now.

I've known about this test for a while, and while I do admit it has it's short comings in that some of the questions can be difficult to answer, and while I do think it can be improved upon, it still represents an improvement over existing adult assessments.

Most significantly, it's creators were mindful that adults on the spectrum often learn to adapt to certain aspects of life and so may cease to express certain aspects of AS that they did when they were younger.

I got 72. Most of the questions described me as a kid...but things that would not necessarily apply to me now.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term psychiatrists - that I am a highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder

My diagnoses - anxiety disorder, depression and traits of obsessive-compulsive disorder (all in remission).

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

I got 131, which is pretty much in the middle of the AS region apparently (I took the test and calculated it late in the evening, so may have made one or two mistakes!).

I agree that certain aspects of the mechanics of the thing are a bit too black-and-white - I assumed the post-16 column refers to the point in your life when your mind starts thinking like an adult...which varies between individuals. It could've been set up more clearly there or even better, as someone else here suggested, we're supposed to take the test with an expert to help answer them as accurately as possible.

It's been several years since I last forced myself into reading and understanding a scientific journal article, so I'm still getting my head around the explanation bits in the first half. It's an interesting test, and certainly more credible than, say, the Autism Quotient test that was on Facebook a while back (although I scored highly on that too...)!
