Hi, i know this isn't strictly about AS but i posted before about this here so i thought i would do so again.

I helped my friend give birth to a lovely baby girl at 2am friday morning. It was a 4 and a half hour labour, really nice, at home with just me and her for the first few hours. I tried really hard and stayed with her the whole time, i even caught the baby and cut the cord. It was lovely and my friend said i was great, really supportive.

The baby is very cute and she is called Hope. I didn't go to sleep until 10ish friday night so i was up for about 32 hours....something like that but i really didn't notice.

Anyway i thought that those who read and replied to my earlier posts might like to know.

:) :) :)

I hate when people name their children after emotions or ideas. It's only a matter of time before they start naming their kids Smile or Sunshine. Hope, Liberty, and Justice are three of the most ill-concieved names ever. Waste of a perfectly good child.

Congratulations! I'd also like to see some pictures. I bet that she looks just like her Mommy.

And perhaps Hope is a perfectly good name? Though Liberty and Justice - I've never heard those used as names and to be honest I hope I never do :P

Morphia - well done! :D

There are tons of horrible names based on words in Spanish:
Remedios - medicines
Dolores - pains
Soledad - loneliness (usually nicknamed Sol, which is Sun)
Mercedes - mercies

My given name means 'pure, open'.

What does yours mean? Curmudgeon?

My name is Gabriel, and I hate it, and I wouldn't even consider giving it to a child.

I agree, Hope is not a good name. At least it's beter than Dakota, Chardonnay, or Infiniti.

I mean, a few people have even named their babies "ESPN." How come you need a license to drive, but any old idiot can have a baby?

Not to mention raise it pretty much any ol' way they want to. Kinda a sacred right in this country.

Even in your optimism-clouded mind, it should be obvious that some people just aren't cut out to be parents. People like me, for instance.
