I have never heard of a person with autism being allergic to dogs, is it possible? Silly question I know, but I really want to know?

I seem to be mildly allergic to cats and dogs... Nothing major, but some dogs are much worse than others.

I doubt it's impossible. I know more people that are allergic to cats, but I don't see any reason why you couldn't be allergic to dogs instead.

People with autism are no different than any other people. Of course they can have allergy with dogs.

I don't see any reason a person with autism can't be allergic to dogs.

Come to think of it, I have heard of autistics being allergic to a lot of different things, but I can't think of a single instance of an autistic person having a dog allergy. Well, except Verdandi.

There is one person in my family who I know to be mildly allergic to dogs, but she's (mostly) NT.

I've always had allergies relating to pets, pollen, dust, and strangely enough snow/water according to the prick test. I really need to move. :U

You're right! In fact, I only know two at the moment. I have never met an autistic person outside a "special needs" group.

Although I'm not personally allergic to cats or dogs, there's probably some autistics who are.

well no offense but if we where no different from other people wouldn't we all be NTs? I mean I did not find out I have aspergers just so I could continue trying to convince myself I'm just like everyone else.

Anybody can be allergic to dogs, so it's not that unusual.

Just because Autistic people are Autistic doesn't mean they can't have allergies. They can be allergic to anything, including dogs.
Everyone (including us on the spectrum) is different in their physical makeup; and that includes allergic reactions. :)
