Often I find myself in an almost euphoric mood for no reason/over very small things (music, reading, watching TV shows I like etc) does anybody else have this happen to them on a regular basis, and does it have anything to do with my AS?

All the time, particularly when writing, reading, or listening to music.

Yea, it's nothing too unusual. Although it only lasts for a second or two.

Mostly when I listen to music or play guitar. Music is the only thing that really makes me FEEL much of anything. I wonder if it is euphoria, or actually just enjoying something for once, and not being used to feeling enjoyment.

Yep, loads of times.
Especially with music, plants, architecture, symmetry, colours.

Sounds to me like NTs don't display any emotion over their enjoyments.....

Yes, I do find myself drifting into euphoria, especially when I write poetry and study the inner-particles of 'reality.' In other words, I like philosophy and metaphysics.....haha.

Yes especially in summer in the evening. I see it as the other side to shutdowns/meltdown, that as well as being easily triggered to have negative feelings we can also be triggered easily to have positive ones. And it is true for me that it can be the smallest thing or seemingly nothing at all.

I have had (not very good) therapists in the past who believed that this was a symptom of bipolar disorder. And I can see why it is commonly misdiagnosed before aspergers. NTs don't seem to have these feelings of euphoria without solid/bigger cause so find it hard to believe that such simple things as writing or looking at a vivid color is enough.

I love euphoria so much, I *wish* I was manic. But, alas, it happens only occasionally. I guess I need some drugs.
