"Ultrasonic" sensors.

At least some of them aren't ultrasonic. I can hear them. And they cause huge amounts of twitching out and headaches, sometimes going all the way to migraines.

Similarly CRTs and other things that make high pitched buzzings that most people can't hear.

I've often said that loud noises and crying children are among the worst sounds for me(because they hurt my ears) but I've recently found another. A coworker sitting next to me eats sunflower seeds all day long and the constant lip smacking and sucking noise she makes disgusts me. I want at the same time to puke and scream at her to stop. The worst part of all is that the sound doesn't hurt my ears, it just sickens me. What's the worst sound in the world for you?

I hear your BLOODY PAIN! ARGH. Sunflower seeds are so common here. EVERYONE eats them. My dad is the nastiest smackiest eater on the world. This (and any loud smacking or chewing) drive me crazy more than anything! The sensation I feel in response is the worst thing ever. I want to scream, break something, hurt them, amongst other things.
Why is she even eating loud food on the job? That's so unprofessional.

I hate screaming babies. I am never having a baby. I also hate my macaw ( a large bird) screaming because his scream is 105 Decibels. That can literally damage your hearing.

Megaphones. Anything sharp on a chalkboard, or when the chalk catches and makes a screeching sound. Teenagers cursing, even though I curse occasionally; it just sounds worse from other people so I try to do it less.
There are too many sounds that all hurt depending on what mood I'm in.

Felt tip pen on sugar paper. That's just the one I can think of off the top of my head because I remember being in primary school and sticking my fingers in my ears because I hated it so much. Some stupid kid started telling on me saying "he's covering his ears because he doesn't like what you're writing". Stupid f*****g kid.

I agree with a lot of u on here!
Squeaky brakes.
Nails run down chalkboards
leaf blowers
Screaming children.
screaming babies
Car horns
People who whistle their S's when they talk
Teens making ignorant noises/rude comments. People talking like Valley Girls.
Buzzing insects

I also HATE:
Car engines
Cars backfiring
Trucks
Motorcycles
Thunder
Doors slamming
Banging noises of any kind
Bathroom exhust fans
Vacuum cleaners
Hair dryers
Blenders
Lawnmowers
Yelling
Screaming hogs
Any kind of machine noise
My neighbors
Cars that pass by with a loud bass on their radio
Balloons popping

There`s probably more but I can`t think of anymore at this time.

The awful, increasing roar of a motorcycle driving by on the street beside you, absolutely :x ! I detest that, it scares me every time it happens, and makes it a tad difficult to be out on town acting normal, considering I jump like 2 metres off the ground each time I hear it :( they really should try and dampen the noise of those things in some (any!) way, since it makes me want to wipe motorcycles from the face of the earth :c

And no question about it, popping balloons are the perfect nightmare for my shaky aspie-soul. Or rather, it is the knowledge that a balloon is going to pop soon. When people play around with them on parties etc,. I simply wish to scream at them to leave the balloon be. Never dare mention it, though, and when the inevitable pop reaches me (if I haven't already left the room panicking) I feel as if I'd just received an electric shock 8O

Also, as many have already said, the sound of a baby/young child crying is among the definitely ear-killing phenomena of our world :? Then, personally I can hardly stand the pronounciation of varying forms of American English (I'm a very nerdy anglophile, and strongly prefer R.P or any kind of British/Irish accent (guess what my special interest is *lol*)) But no offence, Americans out there, it's just me being grumpy and narrow

The sound at the beginning of the testing of the emergency broadcast system.

The sound of a pig being slaughtered (from a movie).

Fingernails on a chalkboard.

The voice of a bully.

Someone talking at a movie.

Some of the smaller birds can damage your hearing, too. I'm glad my bird is quiet. She has a nice voice when she tweets or talks.

Screaming kids and screaming macaws! Arrgh!

For me the worst sounds are:

Nails run down chalkboards
German Rap
Teens making ignorant noises/rude comments. People talking like Valley Girls.
Hair dryer
Mower

Weirdly I like screaming babies. That feels like they need me and I like this feeling... OMG I seem to me sick 8O

Pieces of styrofoam rubbing together (#1 on this list from hell by a wide margin)
Screaming babies
Prepubescent boys singing (imagine the pain I feel every time I hear Justin Bieber :x )
People burping with their mouths closed

just to name a few

Small dogs barking/whining
Music played through the speaker on a cell phone
Anything squeaky
That lady's voice on "Dancing With the Stars"
The fan in the bathroom
Accordion music
People grinding their teeth
Motorcycle throttling
Fire alarms

And the list goes on and on...
